In coronavirus news, the GOP and their Trump emulators are still HELL bent on spiraling even deeper into their death cult.

Even with news of Florida being the only state where people are dying of Covid now more than ever before and reportedly having a backlog of bodies, and reports of children making up 40% of Tennessee's Covid cases, and Alabama out of ICU beds and issuing "chilling" warnings, and Tampa asking people to conserve water (used in the production of liquid oxygen),

right wingers like Texas Gov. Abbott are STILL determined to ban vaccine mandates in spite of FDA approval of Pfizer's shot, while another GOP lawmaker, Rep. Thomas Massie (R-Ky.) posted a tweet that compared the Covid vaccine to the Holocaust. He's since deleted it, but the mentality was DULY NOTED.

Not to be undone in IDIOCRACY, Texas AG Ken Paxton (who's recently "cleared" HIMSELF of all crimes) filed suit against San Antonio's Independent School Districk to stop them from requiring their employees be vaccinated, vowing to "sue every single one of them" "if other governmental entities continue to blatantly disregard state law.

While Louisiana's own AG, Jeff Landry, is quietly going about the business of distributing sample letters for parents to use for claiming an exemption to Covid guidelines. Seems some laws they want followed... others NOT so much.

Though batshit crazy doesn't just reside among the magas (checks spelling) though. As evidenced by a widely panned tweet reportedly posted by none other than Laila Ali who defended anti-vaxxers, advocating for "building up and trust in" one's own immune system (as it were).

Problem being some of US are getting caught up in their flood, and the frantic headlines tell of the toll: "Florida schools a monumental mess" - "Gulf Coast's beloved 'Redneck Riviera' now a virus hotspot" - "Tennessee sets ‘stunning’ new child Covid records" - "Florida Mom Loses 2 Unvaccinated Sons to COVID-19 in Less Than a Day" - "more than 150,000 Americans contracting COVID-19 per day" - "war against Covid leads thousands of burned out Mississippi nurses to resign."

Story after story of misery, grief, despair, suffering, and DEATH... MOST of which DIDN'T HAVE TO BE.

Maybe that's why right wingers like to talk so much about Afghanistan and Joe Biden and Americans who may be left behind. Because it diverts from the estimated 200 THOUSAND PLUS Americans TRUMP left behind, via his own criminal negligence, his lies, his inaction, his obstruction, and his politicization of a DEADLY PANDEMIC.

And maybe because it serves as a SMOKESCREEN for the millions MORE Americans, right here, who've been left behind via the DELIBERATE EFFORTS on the part of Republicans to undermine and ENDANGER THE NATION'S HEALTH.
