While she was at it, should have asked her attorney if wearing those pants were against the law.

This type of belligerent, entitled behavior is disgusting. It has devolved over the past several years to the point where society has lost all respect for each other. Peaceful discourse no longer exists. Many believe the means justifies the ends. In fact, uncivil behavior is not only promoted and encouraged, but is applauded. Whether it is the refusal to wear masks, verbal attacks in Starbucks, spitting on people, throwing rocks and feces at police, grabbing cell phones, violent protests, becoming physically aggressive, blowing bullhorns in peoples faces, in your face taunts, all these assaults on others shows how far we’ve gone into the gutter. Something for us all to think about.

There is no vaccine for stupidity.

If there were, Don would be near non existent.

Pointing out others faults has never been attractive to anyone. As far as I am aware.

Leading by example has always been an age old and proven example. Political parties are supposed to learn by wins and losses...they say they do....but they don't.

If you looked at political decisions being made now on either side they would mirror those made centuries, thousands of years ago by others, Only to be reversed by others of age old opposing views.

Fractured humanity.

Yeah, not everyone is perfect. But unless a medium is struck between all....history will repeat again and again and again. Too and Fro.

We here have just had a recent outbreak in the state of Victoria. It was found hotel staff were not adhering to the strict quarantine restrictions for travelers returning from overseas.

It has spread throughout the capital, Melbourne, hot spots in Victoria....all other Australian states have barred travel from this state. Borders are closed.....security and the ADF (Armed Defence Force) are in place to restrict travel.

Victoria is in strict lockdown.

Yes, because of stupidity and non compliance with protocol during a pandemic. The rest of the nation is at threat.

A vaccine for human stupidity would be most welcome. No...sorry, euthanasia is not the answer.

All it takes is a few assholes and/or idiots to ruin the party.
Assholes and idiots don't follow leadership, whether it is considered good or bad..

Welcome to my nightmare....

Perhaps the lock down that Trump & Co. did their BEST to UNDERMINE and IGNORE anyway, then forced states back to reopening sooner than what they should've.

The argument being, now that TRUMP and COMPANY have completely FUCKED this process, resulting in a resurgence of infection rates, to dismiss the SABOTAGED lockdown (the one they didn't follow properly in the FIRST place) as a waste of time and money...

y'know, sorta like how an irresponsible person who climbs over the railing at the edge of cliff might scream out how that railing sure was a waste of time and money on his way to the bottom of the fkng gorge.

Besides, why should anyone worry about people who were going to die anyway? or some s------ like that.
.

We fucked ourselves. We didn't need elected officials to take no action.

I am more convinced that one cannot police the stupid, elected and non-elected alike. Americans don't like to listen to authority, even when direction provided by authority may be in their best interest. We don't have enough police / national guard / army to effectively control our population in a lock-down.

If you think different leadership would have led to a different outcome, I disagree. There would be enough idiots in the room to fuck it up for everyone else. Look at what happened in Melbourne.

When you are endorsed and enabled by Paula White, Franklin Graham, Jim Bakker, Pat Roberts, Jerry Falwell Jr, Robert Jeffress, among others—i.e. the grifting Trumps of the take-your-money-for-Jesus crowd—would it even matter? If Trump can grope and hump a flag...it ain’t the flag burning.

Today's coronavirus news: In Miami, ONE IN THREE tested for Covid-19 are POSITIVE.

Florida's COVID-19 cases near record levels as nationwide death toll rising again

AND:

'All the hospitals are full': In Houston, overwhelmed ICUs leave COVID-19 patients waiting in ER

https://www.nbcnews.com/news/us-new...ston-overwhelmed-icus-leave-covid-19-n1233430
Houston hospitals have been forced to treat hundreds of COVID-19 patients in their emergency rooms — sometimes for several hours or multiple days — as they scramble to open additional intensive care beds for the wave of seriously ill people streaming through their doors, according to internal numbers shared with NBC News and ProPublica.

At the same time, the region’s 12 busiest hospitals are increasingly telling emergency responders that they cannot safely accept new patients, at a rate nearly three times that of a year ago, according to data reviewed by reporters.

The increase in ambulance diversions, coupled with the spike in patients being held indefinitely in emergency rooms, are the latest indicators that Houston hospitals are straining to keep up with a surge of new coronavirus patients. ProPublica and NBC News have previously reported that a public hospital in Houston ran out of a medication to treat COVID-19 patients and that a spike in at-home deaths from cardiac arrest suggests that the death toll from the coronavirus may be higher than official statistics show.

This would be more persuasive if some U.S. states weren't doing better than others. Those that refused to implement lockdowns, or scaled them back too quickly, are now facing spikes, while those that kept a tighter rein are doing at least somewhat better.

Americans may not always listen to authority, but we still do better when that authority provides at least a degree of direction.

The majority of states now suffering a large number of increased cases didn't have a large number of cases back in the spring. I recall reading residents in those states complaining, "Why are we locked down when there few cases here?" California and the Pacific Northwest buck the trend.

Maybe a population needs to see suffering first hand to understand what they need to do.

Americans may not always listen to authority, but we still do better when that authority provides at least a degree of direction.

If you don't like the people in authority, you may just say, "Fuck it. Why should I make someone I don't like look good..." At least that takes some thought. Did you read about the COVID partes in Alabama and Texas, where young people actually put a bunch of money into a pot to see who would get infected first and collect? That just reeks of stupidity. Do you think leadership could have prevented that kind of behavior?

As I write before, you only need a handful of idiot to ruin the party.

Leadership can't prevent stupid behavior. But it can provide helpful guidance to people who are . . . looking for leadership. Then you're still better off, even with that handful of idiots.
