There are also apps that let you save videos from social media. Even youtube.
But if the Twitter page is set to private, screen record is your next best thing. It's kinda weird that you think screen capture/record diminishes video quality. You can even crop and modify those recorded videos to enhance it like upscale its refresh rate and cropping.
