the stats are from his book - page 12. He has a whole biblography in the back of his book that talks about where he gets his info from. While I'm not hooked on what Shettles has to say, I do think that timing can have an influence on it. Both of the times I've concieved are when I've had intercourse right on or near my ovulation date. I'm pregnant with my second boy. We were actually trying for a girl the second time around, but we had a passionate night of sex too close to the ovulation date and voila...a boy.
While I know that no method is 100% accurate and some experts are skeptic as to whether you can choose the sex of your baby or not, I personally don't see any harm in trying if so many people seem to get what they want out of it.
