I think the question will always result in a lesser number for guys than girls!

When I'm in a relationship, I tend to exclude everyone else in my pursuit of conjugal bliss - it's a hard habit to break, but I've gotten better.

I've got several people who I'd term friends who would do something, but not "anything" for me.

I've got a couple of acquaintances who'd do literally anything for me - & have proved it when I needed help most [ and God that make me rabidly loyal to them]. I can count on them even if I don't talk to them for years.

I don't know where that sits with any definition.

Friendship means the world to me, and many people have drifted out of my life that I thought were friends, so I created a Relationship Ladder with standards that people have to meet to be considered my friend. It is pretty dorky, I know. So far nobody has met my "Friend" requirements, and they aren't unreasonable.
