I'm pretty embarrassed to be writing this, but I want some feedback on a recent instance where I was completely bamboozled.
I'm not sure if any of you remember, but a few weeks ago on this board there was a member calling herself exhibitionerica who posted pictures of "herself" and requested pictures to trade. One of the other board members did some quick research and posted pretty definitive proof that "erica" was likely not "erica" at all. The girl in the pics was a former internet web model who used to go by Arika Ames. The likelihood that "exhibitionerica" was "Arika" was shown to be nil.
Anyway, as it turns out, "exibitionerica" is perpetrating the same scam on other message boards. I hate to say it, but I got suckered into "trading" pics with "her." When my suspicions were piqued, I did a little searching and ultimately it was the post from this board, mentioned above, that persuaded me I had been duped.
I shudder to think what will happen to my pics, which weren't the kind I'd like Mom and Dad to see, to say the least. The reason I'm posting now is to ask if anyone knows what the specific purpose of this type of scam is. Obviously, the perpetrator is doing this at multiple boards to maximize the number of images "she" obtains -- this definitely isn't *gulp* for personal consumption. But do any of you have more specific knowledge of this kind of scam and where I might expect my images to appear, beyond mere speculation? If so, please advise.
God, I'm a sucker.
