The guy is a genius. Do you fault him for not knowing about his Canadian citizenship when he moved from there at the age of 4?

Go read the wiki on him. First Hispanic solicitor general, the youngest one ever, argued before the USSC more than any other lawyer, first Hispanic to clerk for a Supreme Court Justice.

But it's nice to know that you're a racist against Hispanics.
Now we all know that you have no idea that you are a racist. You have no idea what racism is. You just know who you hate.

Oh and wikipedia is not the go to site for all things factual. Information can be added or changed by anyone. Just ask your girl, Sarah, when she made that mistake about Paul Revere.

Notwithstanding your final jab, I am still struggling with the born in Canada part.
Since when is Canada a part of the United States? It is another country and as such according to "the birthers" anyone born in another country can't become President. Now "birthers" like to believe that Obama was born in Africa and as such can't be President but Cruz, being born in another country is a-ok. Did you catch up yet?

I'm editing the post I just made because I did a little research. I was wondering when, exactly, Ted Cruz became a citizen of the United States. The answer is apparently at birth, as his mother was a U.S. citizen who met the U.S. residency requirement before she and his father moved to Canada. A related circumstance allowed John McCain to be a U.S. citizen at birth as well. An interesting distinction between Cruz and McCain, though, is that McCain was born to military parents serving in Panama, while Cruz's parents operated a business (evidently) in Canada. I think constitutional scholars will have a field day debating his eligibility for the office of President. :)

I will excuse you on this one. I was actually agreeing that I don't get it since he was born in Canada.

Apology accepted.

When, exactly, did Cruz become a citizen of the United States? Given that he was born in Canada, he would have to have been naturalized at some point...

What are the Requirements to Become US President?

The "natural born us citizen" part is what has caused the confusion. In literal terms, sounds as if one would actually have to be BORN in the US. However, one apparently qualifies IF a parent was a US citizen.

God. The first Canadian president would be Ted Cruz? How embarrassing would that be?
