What do you as a woman see as the biggest flaw in your counties culture?

I know the list might be long (or short) but what do you see as troubling in your country.

Could I ask if you decide to reply that you add the country you reside in.

Max

If Americans weren't Americans guns wouldn't be an issue. Unfortunately white+conservatism+radicalization+entitlement = we can't have nice things.

Hate and bigotry are not culture or tradition. Some folks need to stop being dumbasses.

After stupidity, nationalism and then religious frenzy round out the suck trifecta.

I live in Brazil and here there are many different cultures and customs in each region of the country so it is difficult to talk about just one problem, but in general the biggest problem in practically all regions is violence and social inequality =/ .

I agree with most of your post except the “white” comment.

I’m a First Nation in my country and I think blaming one race is appalling. We all have ‘skin’ in this game - we can’t point at one race and say “you’re the problem”, it doesn’t work.

There’s good and evil in all races - let’s stamp out evil.

Statistics are kinda clear about who exactly is committing acts like mass shootings, domestic terrorism, abuse of power, manipulation of the law and hoarding wealth.

Yeah, every group has it's own bullshit. The trick is too see how one group's bullshit is cause/effected by a dominate group's bullshit. And which group has the power to inflict misery on other groups.

First Nations Folks, like, white people have put a heap of misery on the shoulders on FNF. FNF don't seem to have the power or the inclination to fuck up WPF's general quality of life

I don't see it as a flaw of my country specifically... I see humans as a flaw of nature. We're a parasite to this planet and the entire environment it provides.

We're arrogant, ignorant, and thoroughly greedy as a species.

People = shit. If I had been given an option, I would not have chosen this existence.

Religion.

Specifically the "my religious beliefs are law". Conservative religious rule of the country is a danger to minoritoes, women and basic human rights.
I actually had to giggle when I read Trump's new "debate forum" - first it states God's law is the only law to be followed - not any manmade law - and literally the next line is that guns are legal because of the 2nd amendment. So I guess the 2nd amendment was written by God - not by man in 1791.

The denunciation of intelligence in the U.S. seems to be a major problem. And I'm not talking military or government intelligence. I'm speaking of those who are educated and can use common sense to deal with issues.

The rebellion against woke. I guess those people would prefer to keep their eyes closed and pretend it's 1954 again.

100 percent.
What’s your thoughts on the gun culture?
Max
I'm kinda the wrong person to ask about guns. I was born and raised in Texas. I knew how to shoot a gun from a very young age. I know how to handle a firearm correctly, and I would never even think about carrying a 30.06 slung over my shoulder into a department store. That's just plain stupid.

I believe in responsible gun control. I believe in red flag laws. I believe in keeping guns out of the hands of those who don't know how to use them or have no business having them.

I used to hunt. I have a license to conceal carry, and I always carry. Fortunately, I've never had to reach for my gun for any reason. There have been times when my Spidey sense tingles and I think about it in my purse. But I'm usually level headed enough go get myself out of that situation without resorting to the last resort.

Let me just say that people read the Second Amendment to the U.S. Constitution in many different ways. Nowhere does it say stupid people must carry guns.

No one seems to ever see the "Well Regulated" part... Selective reading/hearing is a huge issue in 'Murrika. People see and hear what they want to age not much else these days. Critical thinking is more and more rare, and reacting based on emotions and feelings is more and more common.

Some people's feelings don't care about facts and it's gonna end up being a factor in our mass extinction as a species. Just my speculation.

Not too sure I agree with everything here.

Agree about stupid people not owning guns but how do you gauge stupidity?

Max

People in this country don't have to prove in any capacity that they have any actual knowledge of how to operate a firearm.

Requiring physical evidence that an individual has been formally trained on proper use would be one step wet don't take that we could. It's far from the only step, but every journey has to start before it continues.

We need to prove ourselves capable of driving a motor vehicle and provide insurance for said vehicle. Anyone can go into a sporting goods store, spend five minutes at a computer entering information that's so generic as to not raise red flags. Then presto: you got a gun.

Or even simpler go to a gun show and put down cash and walk out with a .45 caliber handgun that can take an arm with a single shot.

One of my great wishes for the United States is that we somehow have intelligent people in charge of the government. But we'll always have the lowest common denominator controlled by moneyed people with agendas.

What's worse that reaction based on emotions and feelings is reactions based on religious beliefs. Emotions are real.

In the United Kingdom we're known for our generosity and charity however, it often seems our country should be doing more for our own people who sadly seem to often slip thru the net.
That's a malady affecting many developed nations, I'm afraid.

People here really are obsessed with our country's traditions even tho they're really messed up, like the way we celebrate new years eve. Half of the country wants a total fireworks ban and only organized firework shows, the other half buys (illegal) fireworks for millions of euro's every year resulting in injuries, people and animals with PTSD and sometimes even death. (last year a 22 year old guy died, several people, kids, are now missing limbs and eyes).

Another tradition is where white people dress up as black people, using black face paint, afro wigs and golden hoop earrings (black face), and their 'master' is a big old bearded white man. Just cringe and plain racism. Thankfully many people now see how outdated this tradition is but a small group refuses to let go of it and fight on and offline with those who are against it.

I also don't like the immigration rules we have here, there has to be a max limit, the country is high on the list of highest population density and it's only getting worse. It's shown time and time again that certain religions don't get along or accept a secular system. But this all has more to do with being part of the European Union, not with the country itself.
