Sounding is great- it feels like nothing else- the urethra is extremely sensitive and it's a great change of pace to orgasm that way, but please invest in actual sounding rods, or at least a set of stainless steel chopsticks (like this) so you can easily boil them for sterilization. http://www.amazon.com/River-Chopsti...TF8&qid=1366458204&sr=8-2&keywords=chopsticks

How can I find out more? I'm a complete beginner but I'm interested. I wouldn't even know where to start

For the life of me I cannot understand how anyone could find having something shoved up their dick pleasurable. I had to have a cystoscope put up there by a doctor once and it was one of the more unpleasant experiences of my life. When I had to pee afterwards it burned like hell.

Do a google search for "sounding penis how to" and you'll get some very useful sites. More than I could list here.

Get a good high quality kit with various sizes and I can't stress enough START WITH THE SMALLEST ONE! I know several guys who started with one they somehow thought was the right size only to end up with a torn urethra.

Don't use silicone lube, use a water based lube. After you're finished playing, go pee. It helps to flush out the lube, particles and bacteria. Also, be careful if you feel burning or tenderness the next day as if your sound isn't sterile, you could give yourself a urethral and/or bladder infection.

It can be a pleasurable experience. Just be cautious, keep your instruments clean and unless you really know the guy you're playing with, don't share your instruments. Feel free to PM me with any questions.

I have this kit:
JT's Stockroom - Rosebud Urethral Sounds Kit, 8 Piece

But you might want to start off with something like this:
JT's Stockroom - Stretcha Urethral Sounds Kit

does this info still apply if I'm female? I have no idea if it's different for men and women

and thanks for your reply :biggrin1:

Yep, still applies- I use water based lube (I actually bought a giant bag of the single serve packets they give out at sex shops, so it's always a freshly opened pack) and only use stainless steel toys that can be boiled.

It's a little harder for women, because men can feel the sound going into their urethra from the outside as well as the inside, whereas the only feedback you will have is the way it feels going in.

-I can't emphasize enough that you have to go slooooooowly, and stop at any sign of discomfort.
-Generally i slowly twirl the sound as it goes in, and usually i have to adjust my hips/angle of entry to get it deep enough to have the end resting inside the bladder so it wont pop out on its own the moment i let go of it.
-If i involve a partner, I handle insertion myself, and let him take over once its inside- I particularly recommend combining sounding with a vibe!

After your first session, it will burn a little when you pee- don't worry it only happens the first or second time.

Funnily enough I sounded a lot when I was a teenager, and I've been thinking about getting back into it. When I was a kid I just used what I could find and a blob of Vaseline. I sometimes got a bit carried away and bled on occasion. I want to try it again, but before I go rummaging in the garage, is there any common implements around the house I could use? Is plastic acceptable? What about copper wire? Obviously I'd sterilise anything I used. Finally, is there a limit to how far you can push something in? Is it dangerous to push too far? Any advice would be great.
