i was born uncircumcised. a few hours later after birth, parents decided to have a doctor remove my foreskin. dont know why they made the stupid? decision for their son, either. however, probably i would do the same thing to my son as my Dad did. so i can not blame my parents.
How does that work? I find it hard enough to understand guys who want to cut a son because they like being cut.

it's not because of my preference nor being content with my cut.
sounds funny but it's my family tradition and my culture.
males in my family and relative are all cut.
circumcision has special meaning to me.
it means a seal of permission that Dad granted me to get into the manhood community.

I'm 18 now, I got cut 6 months ago because of health reason. The foreskin wasn't behaving like it's supposed to and it never would, so I had to get it cut.
I can't say if I'm happy with it or not because I could never experience any feeling because it was always covered by a rather large amour of foreskin that wasn't able to b pulled back.
I guess I'm glad I did it because even if there is a reduced sensation, what I have now is all I've known and it's MUCH better than nothing

I was cut a little more than a year ago at age 21. Preferred to have the foreskin back and head exposed and tried to keep it rolled back for several years but without success. Decided that I liked it that much better that and and made the decision final. No regrets and probably would have like to do it sooner.

Unfortunately, this is more prevalent then you may think. The seal of permission ..... stuff is fluff. Family tradition is probably the largest contributor to non-religious circumcision in the U.S. Many do not want to buck the tradition and prefer to conform. I can understand this more for those that are unaware of the advantages of being intact and the human rights issues at stake. But for those that have been exposed to this information I just can't understand the reasoning.

The cast majority of men circumcised as adults have done so through choice, so you're only going to see a response from a very biased percentage of the male population. Ask a man who hates his foreskin how he feels about his penis after being circumcised, you'll basically get one response.

My father knew men who were circumcised against their will (ordered to do so) in the army during WW2 in PNG. I can assure you they were not happy men afterwards.

I will debate that the vast majority of men who get cut as adult do so purely by choice. I think there is a big silent majority who got cut because of foreskin problems.

Of males with foreskin problems, those who have never been able to retract foreskin will have a certain opinion of their post circ performance, while those who used to have fully functioning foreskin but developped phimosis rapidly in a couple of years may have another opinion as they woudl rememeber life with a functioning foreksin.

Then there are males who choose to get circumcised despite foreksin problems. Of those, there are some with redundant foreskins, and those with normal or short foreskins. So even between those groups the opinions would be different.

I have yet to see some valid satistics on post circumcision that would help any one individual decide based on his condition and life experience. And then, you have to look at the outcome of the circumcision (partial, loose, medium, tight) because that will also affect how one masturbates and whether that outcome was desired by the male or whether the male had desired a different type of circ.

Forced army circs may have happened, or may have been just recommendations that the guys accepted, perhaps under peer pressure. But I don't recall seeing any authoritative army declaration that men HAD to be circumcised.
