So at the gym today I see a 55 yo (or so) dude, big roid gut, very vasuclar, but clearly not in the best of shape. He is with a younger dude, maybe 22-24yo. The younger pup is not huge, not small. Very defined. GI Joe haircut. Both guys are wearing white tanks, small shorts, same shoes.

So, is this a Dad/Son thing? Any of you had experience with this?

Sort of fascinating - how does the old stud keep up with the pup? They share expenses? How does this sort of thing work?

Welcome any comments -

when I was 18 i was dating a 36 yo man...when I was 19 i was dating a 44 yo man.....I guess there was a dad/son dynamic......It was assumed that I didn't pay for anything...I didn't mind at all

I miss not paying for anything.

but if a dude is in his early 20s and the other guy is in his 50s, that must make for some interesting situations

I guess Indy's 19/44 is closer to the two dudes I saw at the gym today.

I'm guessin that some of these pups are "projects" for the dad - roid them up, sculpt them.

I’m not as old as the guy you mentioned but do date those half my age and am looking too settle down with one (again). With me it’s not like a father/son thing although I suppose it’s like that in a lot of ways. I view it more as somebody I can be best friends with and vice versa and just happen to be attracted too much younger guys. There are a lot of younger guys with issues that appreciate the wisdom of an older guy and there are a lot with no issues that are simply attracted to the mindset of an older guy from my experience. Stability I think is another factor.

Never had a problem keeping up with anybody as I’m pretty active myself.

One thing that is a problem is others often only see a younger guy that dates/lives with an older guy as a piece-of-meat gold-digger and don’t think there could be anything involved like real mutual interest, companionship and/or love. Some can be rude about it even but I expect they are just jealous or simpleminded.

Thats what some people desire. I was at a cruisey spot once, well populated with young handsome guys.. in comes an older gent and I swear 1/3 of the guys swarmed after him. Some young folk have issues and I dont know any older dude who would turn them down..

Age was never an issue for me. Some older men are attractive, some let themselves go.

This kind of relationship is not at all different from the older man/younger woman that is pumped into the brains and psyches of straight men. The Dad/Son/Boy, Coach/Player, Bear/Cub, Sir/Boy dynamic is a male version of the Man/Cheerleader, Teacher/female student dynamic and fantasy that permeates a lot of porn.

My man is 10 years older than me and I know a lot of couples where there is an age difference of more than 2-3 years. The age difference is not a big deal at all.

The other thing to consider is that age is not what makes someone a "daddy" or a "boy/cub/pup." Attitude and chemistry between two people is key.

As Indy has said, he looks like a daddy but is all boy on the inside. I look and act more boyish most of the time and definitely have my daddy tendencies. If I am around older, more mature men, I fall into a more cubbish role by default. Similarly, when I am around younger men, I assume a more mature, "daddy" type of role.

I also have a buddy who is the daddy in his relationship, even though his BF is 5 years older than he is (46-51). they work out together and are both in phenomenal shape.

Cool stuff -

How many have been an older dudes muscle project? Take a younger guy and build him up into a real muscle giant?

Sounds fun.

I’m the type that gravitates towards a swimmers build so as soon as that status is achieved we leave the gym and head to the beach!
