Loved it! Great remake of the original. I'm so glad they kept the original theme song just like the new Hawaii Five-O did (both are classic theme songs). I still remember watching the original series religiously, and how everyone was talking about who shot J.R. I remember that I even had an "I shot J.R." t-shirt. Did anyone else have one of those?

LOL...I didn't have the "I Shot J.R." T-shirt, but I remember the summer of 1980---I saw those shirts everywhere. Remember the "J.R. Ewing For President '80" badges and T's? J.R.'s face was everywhere that year.

If I remember correctly, there was even a Dallas board game. I'm pretty sure I had one (I was 13 at the time). It was a crazy popular show back then.

I have a "Who Shot J.R.?" T-shirt. I got it a few years ago...from some website, can't remember which. I get lot's of comments when I wear it. Still tons of Dallas fans out there.

P.S. I know this is a little nit-picky...but on the prescription bottle in the first episode they had Bobby's name as Robert Ewing. Any true fan of the original knows that his actual name was Bobby James Ewing...I can't believe they missed something as simple as that.

There were a LOT of those nitpicks... Plus, the events of both movies were "assumed" to have not happened... Very frustrating for those who stuck by the show during thick and thin.

Don't get me wrong -- it was a great relaunch -- and I'm glad it has been viewed so positively by both critics and in the ratings.

Yeah, Bobby James Ewing is right. That bothered me too (the Robert Ewing pill bottle thing, I mean).
The critics have been very happy with the new Dallas thus far, thankfully. The fans are equally happy as well, again thankfully.
Patrick Duffy is one buff, hot daddy (though I'm not in to daddies). For a man of 60ish, he looks pretty damn buff!
The budget for Dallas looks pretty expensive too (by cable standards).
What about J.R.'s other son, James (played by 1990s heartthrob Sasha Mitchell)? Wonder if he'll eventually pop up?

Just watched this week's episode. Larry Hagman steals every scene he is in---J.R. is still a blast to watch, even after all those years.
Not enough Josh Henderson in this week's episode, is my only complaint. He does play well off Hagman. Fun watching those two scheme together. Nice chemistry there.
We should all look as good as Patrick Duffy at that age.
It was nice to see Ken Kercheval as Cliff Barnes again---his scene with Hagman was typical Cliff/J.R. banter. It was like watching two grumpy old men snap at each other, in an entertaining way.
Another nice episode!

I loved the original and am totally loving the renewed series! I agree Patrick Duffy is one smoking HOT daddy, but I always had a crush on him. And if I was straight I'd totally go after Linda Gray! She's 71?! Damn... She's still stunningly beautiful. Jesse Metcalfe and Josh Henderson are great looking boys though. Too young for my taste but they are mighty fine eye candy.

Agree with you about Charlene Tilton, Lucy.
Ted is playing a cad-type character on The Young and the Restless soap on CBS.

Looking forward to Wednesday's finale (TOO SOON!!).
