Well, he knew when to head for the door.
This is a bit of a classy move, imo. There's no huge call for his resignation. He could have stayed on longer. (But I seriously doubt he would have won the next election, After two majorities, he's now leading only a minority government ... though that third victory, however compromised, made him the first Ontario Liberal leader to win three straight elections in well over a century.)
The amazing thing is that he ever won anything.
McGuinty surely stood among a unique troika of charisma-challenged Canadian politicians ... him, Stephane Dion, and Joe Clark.
All sooper good guys -- but hapless beyond belief and not peeps you would expect to rise higher than Official Stenographer for the School Board Chairman.
Maybe McGuinty's decency (he had that, in spades) will win him a fond place in the memories of Ontarians.
I find I like to think so.

It was a good move. I'm also hoping the next premier is not liberal. I have been so annoyed with the way he ran things. I will give him the fact that he won people over 3 elections, but hopefully this time a new party can bring something to the table, and I sure will NOT forget him!

You mean an entirely new party, or just a party that hasn't held power for the last decade?

You should list a few of your grievances.
I'm interested.

Yeah I'm all for an entire new party. My grievances? Mainly Student Loans, Taxes (that have to do with students)... I guess I just feel like students aren't being treated fairly. Since I'm a little further North, I also don't agree with the way he's been treating us lately, selling off companies, which one of my parents happens to work for... Not that I'm a promoter of the North, I plan on transferring college's to down in the States.

Sorry, I misread the question earlier... I don't mind a whole new party, but I'm from a french catholic family so I'd like to hope the conservatives get in.

Not exactly sure what you mean? You mean Canada? or the States? Isn't Stephen Harper a conservative?
