You don't even know me and accused me of stuff that is pure bull. People who do corresponde with me know I tend to be more caring towards them than want anything from them.

You are a hothead in desperate need of a real life.
Look, we've chatted, and yeah, I know you, but I think this is being blown outta proportion. If I remember right, it was more of a "for all I know you COULD be Monst too" type of thing. Trolls, fakes, and multis, commonly boost themselves up, by posting as a supporter (remember HungToddFrat, or whatever the hell his name was, and the "girl" that swore she met him, and how amazing he was, and for those that don't remember, both were one guy). If you're clever, posting as diff people isn't that tough.

Anyway, it was just a point being made, and it got taken by more than one person the wrong way, so let's just step back while we can, before even MORE in-fighting starts. Deep breaths. De-e-e-e-e-p breaths. Ahh, there we go.

Not to sidetrack a serious contribution and discussion, but that's easy to say when you look like... well, like YOU! [/drool]

I think that's the issue. From what I gathered over the past couple years, that's what the issue was with DMW. He was trying to recapture... Nevermind. The issue is that many people DON'T look like some hot, young, guy like you, so they attempt to become someone that they think everyone else will like, and the Internet, for better or worse, provides them with an easy vehicle to do this. And BECAUSE it's "just the Internet", so many people are willing to excuse this kind of behaviour, that in real life, they wouldn't even begin to tolerate. It's this kind of enabling that explains why instead of just another means of communication, that the Internet has such a bad name. If every time you communicated via the Internet, your name and face were attached to it, you'd never see these things happening.

Now if you need me, I'll be wandering around in your gallery. I'll be the one uncontrollably drooling. So, I'll be easy to spot.

Well color me flattered! Ok I just re-read my initial post and it reads as if english is my....3rd language! Sorry about that people. In any event, NoviceBottom, thank you for your kind words.

However, while I see where you are coming from I have little to no sympathy for those that use fake pictures, for a couple of differnt reasons. I've had my pictures stolen and used on different sites, like myspace and dlist and others. Hell I've even chatted with someone and they sent me "their" pic and damnit if it wasn't my own pic! Can you imagine? LOL ..

LPSG is very image driven yes, but also the regulars here really vibe off of banter and a picture alone will not supply you with the intellectual "meat" te he, te he... to get you over. I submit to you that smarts are WAAAY sexier than looks (although they are gravy) .. .. for me, what your mind brings to the table trumps looks and we need to impress that among the members here.

I like the term e-balls. Many people on the net have them. They say things over the world wide web they wouldn't dare say to people face to face. The internet really shows you peoples true nature and if you're a jerk....hey, on the internet youre a SUPER jerk!

It's fun to see the members bicker, to a certain extent but when it gets out of hand the mods really do need to step in. A great site that mods very very well is televisionwithoutpity.com. They have their shit on LOCK!

Novice...are you STILL in my gallery???? SMILE!

Oh, don't get me wrong, I don't either. I was just pointing out why some people feel the need to do it.

Two quick stories:
1) The first pic in my gallery, "New Member"... I was contacted by someone, within the first couple days of joining, telling me, "C'mon, that's pic is all over the net." So, you'll notice, that my 2nd pic, my verification pic, is very deliberately in a similar pose, and in front of the very same background. Never got an apology, but haven't been questioned since.

2) I FINALLY worked up the nerve to meet a guy from a site that we both belonged to, and that I'd been chatting with for quite a while. So, he arrives as my place. OK enough looking guy, but I said, "Um, this isn't gonna work for me."
"Oh, do you have to go into work afterall?"
"Uh, yeah. So anyway, you're gonna have to go. Sorry about that."

About a 1/2 hour later, he IMs me, and asks me what happened. I told him, "For starters, you weren't the guy in your pics."
"Well, that's your opinion."
"WHAT??? I have the pics. I saw you right in front of my face, and you 2 aren't the same guy!"
"You're just mad because the guy that showed up, didn't live up to the image in your head."
"Uh, NO!!! You actually looked OK, but you're NOT the guy in your pix, so I have no idea what else you're lying about."
"This is pointless. You're really being irrational."
"WHAT??? YOU IM'd ME, AND you're a FAKE." <I click "Block User">

Oh, um, sorry. I was hoping you wouldn't notice, and I'd end up locked in here overnight.

Read the changes thread he was way too defensive in that thread it wasn't like him so it hit him where it counted most to him. I dont think he was in good graces with all mods. Just the right ones.

I've been warned about him many times and warned others after seeing him start race wars and taunt his enemies into fucking up and then get them banned. There has been an understanding to not piss him off or you'll get to walk the plank. Anyone who hasnt seen that trend is new or blind.

I'm still kinda new and have noooo idea who he is. Don't know him so i won't miss him!

I dont know what secrets youve told them but I dont think they have all that much secret info about anyone, frankly!

Rouge, people who are saying positive things about Monster are just relaying their own experiences with the guy. You can only take people as you find them. Its not about being fooled by him or his photo's.
They have access to stuff that can tell them where your ISP is just by seeing your IP address. They can get lots of information just knowing that. You are never safe on the internet.

Oh wait... are you being a teeny wittle bit sarcastic at all here?

:biggrin1:
My post was dripping sarcasm all over.

Your continuous little comments like these aren't helping, and are in fact just clouding the issues. Yes, you're entitled to your opinions as a member, but it's unattractive.
I'm entitled to my thoughts but it's unattractive to express them?
Is this a version of being seen but not heard?

Attractive or not I'm going to post how I feel. And it just so happens that I feel more than a tiny bit annoyed that because the membership can't see the precise mechanics when something does or does not happen they feel free to cast aspersions on our conduct.

I find that rude and unattractive.

Who said that was the only reason?
I didn't see any other posited in your post.

Please don't see it as an attack on you in particular. See it for what it is, my exasperation with the attitude in general.

I'm confused here. If Monster was the target, not the instigator, and he dropped arguments, "long before the other person," then what was it he did wrong? Is he to blame for the harassment even though he didn't instigate it? That is what these posts imply.

No, actually, it isn't. Someone in this thread has already decoded the three key words in my post.

Just took a peek at their FAQ & Dos and Don'ts. I like. Thanks for mentioning them.

Oh, jeez, you make it sound all creepy like. It's not like we can learn enough to knock on your door.

Oh, Novie, re the gold payments, only Rob_E would have access to that info.

For better or worse, like it or not, people see you as a Mod first, and member second. You can write whatever you want, but this is how all of your posts are going to be viewed. So, when the members are clamouring for answers, and the only crumbs that you're throwing out to them, are your drippy bits of sarcasm, and mystic codes, yes, it doesn't look good on you. It looks overly defensive, and it looks difficult. Again, as a member, it'd probably go unnoticed, but as a Mod, unfortunately, you're just examined differently. Personally, I just felt that your continuous sarcastic sprinklings, were droplets of gasoline on a fire, that made both you, and the Mods, by association, look bad.

I DO get it. I know that there are tons of things going on behind the scenes. I know that there are times when you want to scream out what ACTUALLY happened, when people are speculating, and drawing their own conclusions. I know that being a Mod is generally thankless. You either have to find a way to deal with it, or quit it, and I'm NOT suggesting either over the other. I do have to say, that while I've given Mods grief, I've also given them praise, and I try to be fair and thoughtful with both, according to the situation, moderate, if you will. On this occasion, I just felt that your comments weren't helping an already volatile situation, on a site that has been in worsening chaos for a while now. In the end, however, you're right. You can write anything you want.

I don't know why you came to that conclusion. Even taking the sarcasm in to account. I was referring only to the monster and I didn't mention any other banned members. Many times he implied that he was in good with moderating team. In spats with people who called him a faker he often said that "He's been reported and there is a banning on the way", to one of his fans. Or words to that effect. It doesn't take a rabid conspiracy theorist to wonder what's up.

I lost my de-coder ring when I was six years old playing in Jimmy Sugdon's basement. I think the little shit stole it.
Why should be be necessary to "decode" anything here. It wasn't with HungMuscle and if you look at that thread, people were very happy with the explanation given for his banning and the mod team came off very well. What's the difference here? Why the lack of a straight forward answer to the question, " Why was monster banned?"

Edit- Monster should have been spanked for saying or implying that he was in good with someone on the mod team. Publicly. Letting him get away with that undermined the perceived integrity of the moderators.

Oh sure you could.. you would just have to dig a little deeper.

Not to my knowledge. The most invasive I've seen was having an IP blocked and that required a tight case to the service provider. They'll either block it or not but they won't give out personal details to us. I can't see how it would be legal for them to do so. If it were a serious legal issue the details might be given to the correct authorities. That isn't us.

Hmmmm. Maybe it was found out that Monster was a moderator. So they are doing the CYA job now. Or, maybe Monster was an alien from the planet Uranus here to probe into all the crevices of knowledge that are forbidden.
