He said "Common Law Marriage" which is something else entirely and has to do with longterm co-habitating giving the same regal rights as being married.
same sex marriage is when 2 people of the same gender get married. common law marriage is when a couple has been living together for a certain amount of time, and alongside other requirements(like filling taxes together), are seen by the government as a married couple. the uk doesn't have common law, so even if dan and phil do all the stuff that'd classify them as a married couple in the eyes of the government under common law, in the uk, they're just 2 dudes living together
