Dancing is not for everyone, and being well-hung is no guarantee of success. There are other factors: Your face, your build, how well you dance, your stage presence. In my troupe, another consideration is police record. There are both gay and straight dancers dancing in all venues. There are straight men dancing in our troupe simply because they know that they can generally make about twice as much money dancing in gay clubs. My oldest brother is an example of a straight dancer who works in gay clubs. How much a successful dancer can make depends on many things: where you dance, if you have a good manager, if you have a following, etc. I won't be so crass as to list how much I make, but just let me say that I've made enough to have paid off my tuition at Tulane University and still be able to spend a month in Europe for vacation. And I don't escort; prostitution, or any other illegal activity, is grounds for termination in the group I'm with. With the right combination of talent and luck, there is money to be made. But a word of caution: don't fool yourself into believing that working in such a field can't come back to haunt you later in life. I know of too many cases where it has happened, and I'm praying that I won't be a casualty.
