Or, you know, if you want content that someone has posted, then you could just DM that person yourself. Rather than posting a “DM me” message on a public thread, filling up said thread with such messages, and spamming everyone who subscribes to the thread with constant notifications.

I also think it’s super lazy (and rather rude) to expect people with content to do all of the work. If someone has content, it’s pretty entitled to expect them to have to trawl through pages of posts on threads looking for people who have posted wanting DMs, when those people could have easily messaged the person themselves.

It takes no more time or effort to send a DM to the person you want content from, than it does to post a public comment asking them to DM you. So why persist with spamming threads for no reason?
