Danny Andries, who was known as DoubleMeetWhopper was killed last Thursday in a car accident. The link below is the obituary and the guest online registry.

    http://www.legacy.com/ShreveportTimes/Obituaries.asp?Page=LifeStory&PersonId=92502454

    This link is genuine.

While I was very hurt how he ended his identity here at LPSG, I did love him and my sympathies are with his family.

We don't usually put real names here. However, his real name and place of residence is well documented in old threads here.

That was very sweet of you to do, Freddie. This place was home to Danny for a long time and he effected many people in many ways. Thanks.

I have decided to make this thread a sticky thread for a week. This thread is only for condolences. Comments that are not condolences will be deleted out of respect for his family. Real people are hurting and grieving the loss of a loved one.

I too would like to express my condolences to all the friends and family of Mr Andries. I know his wit and intelligence will be sorely missed by those he loved and who so greatly loved him.

To me, in his years here as DMW, he was the soul of the group.
His sig: Ars Longa, Vita Brevis: CARPE SCROTUM.

Very sorry for MZ, who has lost, as she has put it on the other site, a brother. I was looking forward to the opportunity of getting to know him there.

Thanks, Freddie, for putting this up, I had been, since learning from MZ's post yesterday, thinking that it should be posted here, but had not thought of how it should be done appropriately, or by whom.

Edit: MZ posted that, from her conversation with his Father, apparently he had a heart attack while behind the wheel of his car.
That newspaper obit is excessively brief. His old posts are archived here, and his recent ones can be read on the other site, do a google search for big dirigible dot com.

Thanks for making it a sticky Freddie. When I read Mme. Z's thread I was a little numb and though I knew there would be people here who needed to know I did not know weather or not to post it. My heart goes out first to his family and those who knew him from this board. Though he was a “character” he was always friendly and accessible to everybody. He was passionate and open about his life and beliefs. He will be missed.

He was one of the originals here who made the place worth returning to again and again.

May he rest in peace. Thanks for posting this "Sticky", Freddie. I'm sure he would have made an irreverent splooge joke about that circumstance.

There is a word, of grief the sounding token.
There is a word bejewelled with bright tears.
The saddest word fond lips have ever spoken,
A little word that breaks the chain of years.
Its utterance must ever bring emotion,
The memories it crystals cannot die.
‘Tis known in every land, on every ocean,
    It is
    Goodbye.

    Rest in peace, Danny.

This does not sound like another "joke", and I wish it was. He was very enjoyable when he was around on here.

    Argh.

We were the same age. I wish I could have known him better.

    RIP Danny. You are missed.

DMW had an uncanny ability to satisfy my hunger for raunchy talking attention... a true gentleman whom I've missed for some time.

    This is sad news indeed.

This is seriously terrible. I remember DMW being one of the first people on LPSG to reach out to me just to say welcome. Crazy how life is.

I didn't know Danny, don't think I saw any of his posts, but the way you guys talk about him, makes me think he'll be missed by this site, his friends and his family.

    Rest in peace Danny.

He is seriously the only boarder I remember from my previous stint on the board a few years ago. His open mind, and heartfelt journey in his faith will truely be missed. I hope that his family and friends will be comforted by the sheer impact of his life.

DoubleMeatWhopper and later Spoogesicle here, inter alia, and on the other site, DoubleSpoogeWhopperSicle, member #5.

    Requiescat in Pace.

    I'm going to say DoubleMeatWhopper.

I only had one exchange with him, on another site, but I had an uncanny sense of knowing him. I think many had that sense. (And of course, he had several close direct connections with people on this board.)
He had a way of seeming very smart, wise and good. Worldly but very real.
He could impart life lessons like a true teacher.
It seems that some of this was puppetry ... Danny animating a creation much like a novelist does. (Not entirely though ... there was a good deal of the real Danny, I believe, in DMW.)
All I can say is the reading was good, and I'll remember the protagonist and the writer with real pleasure.

I didn't have a chance to get to know Danny here or anywhere else - he's remembered so fondly by you all - my condolences to all you guys, as well as to his family and other friends, of course. RIP.

And flights of angels sing thee to thy rest.
