Use something ultraslick and silicone-based is what I would suggest.

KY tends to get gummy and unpleasant. KY Liquid is an improvement, but it's still not the best lube for buttfucking. My suggestions: Wet Platinum, Astroglide, Anal-EZE. A lot of friends of mine like a lube called ID, but I've never tried it.

Also, and this might seem simplistic, remember to BREATHE during insertion. You'd be surprised at how easy it is to forget that and people tend to tense up when they are holding their breath.
