Oh wow. I wonder what made him move to Nashville. Tennessee is such a conservative state and yall know how they feel about us "gays." LOL. Now wonder he's been in the closet all these years. Maybe it's for the best though. I grew up in a conservative state too with not many gay guys around. I was so innocent back then and had only 2 partners. Ever sense I moved to a blue state as an adult, I can't even tell you how many guys I've had sex with. Lol! He would do very well in like a Providence Rhode island (p-town) location.
in Nashville, he can have access to studios, musicians, etc but with a vibe that's more small town than NYC or L.A.

Hmm his singing career has somewhat fizzled since that first crush song he had tho. He likely would have done better in Los Angeles.

Really, his peak hype fizzled out after 2010, but honestly, I think that was for the best. He really didn’t have much autonomy over his career at all back then, and he’s talked quite a bit about how the fame was pretty overwhelming. Not to mention his struggles with his orientation and the fact that he was still pretty far off from coming into himself.

I obviously can’t speak for him, but he seems to have hit the sweet spot in regards to fame. Famous enough to have a dedicated fanbase and be granted a number of good opportunities. But not so famous to the point where it’s overwhelming and he can’t do “normal person” things without getting ambushed. I’d wager he’s pretty much set for life as far as finances go, too.

Interesting take. I couldn't disagree more. David's voice is too amazing for him to not be more famous. He's a better singer than most top singers. They have people like Rihanna doing the super bowl when she's clearly not vocally talented. David had so much potential that was wasted in Nashville. Not only could he have been better off professionally in an LA or NYC type location, he could have felt more comfortable in his personal orientation as well away from those conservative country bumpkins in Tennessee. I have family and have visited Tennessee many times. It's not a place where gay men can thrive. There are plenty homophobic/racist people there.

Pop music isn't truly about vocal agility or ability though is it? It's meant to be fun earworm music. It's certainly appreciated if the singers are also skilled vocalists but it's certainly not a requirement.

Not trying to be rude but I think you are being way too reductive and close minded here. First of all Nashville (and Memphis) are both pretty liberal cities within Tennessee. People from all over the country live there. It's a music city. It's not filled with bigots and country bumpkins.

Second of all. It isn't very nice to refer to millions of people within a state as "country bumpkins". That's a gross and unfair generalisation. I implore to extend a tiny bit more charity to these people. They're not all hateful homophobes.

Just because he is not putting out #1 albums doesn't mean that his career is not incredibly successful or that he has "wasted" his potential. I would much rather have this David who has a career at a size where he can work out who he really is rather than being under a constant spotlight with people criticizing every move he makes while he discovers his identity. It would be very easy for him to sell out and put out a Top 40 album, but that isn't him.

Also, Nashville to singer/songwriters is like LA to actors.
That is exactly where he SHOULD be to get to work with amazing producers and writers in his genre. Plus, that is where his label is based.

Yes, Nashville has a reputation for being Country but it is so much more than that on the behind the scenes side of music production.

Nashville is more diverse than people think. That goes for the South in general actually.

He did a live yesterday and said that he’ll be documenting pretty regularly more of his fitness progress for his subscribers (and a more zoomed-out view of it on his main feed).

Definitely pretty excited for all of it, haha.

I run in the same social circles as his boyfriend. It's common knowledge that David A's basically flying out to LA almost weekly to see him.

Haven't heard anything bad about David, just that he's kind, somewhat reserved and a great tipper at bars.

Now you’ve got me curious. Do you have the bf’s Insta? :eyes:

Okay, well if you're going to come on here and make claims like this, you're going to have to give us more info...

But also, I respect that David wants to keep this stuff private, as he has every right to.

I've seen this same scenario millions of times before on here. Some new account comes in and makes claims with absolutely no proof, and then is never seen again. But of course, everyone believes their unproven claims for whatever reason.

Literally anyone can come on here and say whatever they want. Just because some random anonymous person on the internet made a claim, doesn't make it true folks.

This isn't my first rodeo. Assume BS until given proof.
