Impossible for me to pick just one. At the moment I would throw out Fame, Man Who Sold The World and Changes. I could list 30 more easily though.

I opened for Bowie in 95' in St. Pölten, Austria. He was a very cool guy and I can't say that about everyone with whom I've worked . He came over to our dressing room and hung with us for a bit. Very cool and very down to earth.

Diamond Dogs astounding segue of Sweet Thing (reprise) and Rebel Rebel, the escalating, grinding guitar solo leading into the intitial cords of Rebel Rebel still rings true genius.

He used to scare me when I was little because I watched the Labyrinth and thought he was an evil villain. But even then I loved As the World Falls Down.

A huge Bowie fan and he's done such a wide range of a styles that it's impossible to pick only one favourite. But for the moment, the one that springs to mind is "Absolute Beginners" - I just love how the music soars during the chorus and how the near-operatic female vocal (whom I first thought was Kate Bush, but isn't) echoes and blends with David's vocal.

I saw him live on the Reality tour and once more when Heathen came out. I was born out of my time so even in highschool in 1998 I was all about his albums, his newer stuff still blows me away. best live performer I have ever seen. Legend.

I like:

I've been waiting (cover of a neil young track) YouTube - I've Been Waiting For You
New Killer Star - YouTube - David Bowie - New Killer Star (A Reality Tour)
Loneliest guy - YouTube - A Reality Tour - David Bowie - The Loneliest Guy

I have been a fan of David Bowie about 40 years. I can not or wont even try to pick a favorite song. He did rock, heavy metal, folk, jazz, soul, ambient. He always took chances. He didn't make music to sell records. He just wanted to explore new music and different ways of making it. Here is my favorite of his many instrumentals over the years. As much as i love his voice i can't pick a favorite song. His last two albums Heathen and Reality are considered his best by fans and critics. He has Retired on a high note. He and Iman were spotted at a gala a few nights ago. David looks great . After 20 years of marriage you can tell they are still in love. He is spending his time raising his daughter Lexi. Painting and writing a book..

Oh there's no mistaking the mans genius. I am not sure however, he is done with his music yet. I'd like to see him act more, I thought he was great as Tesla and Warhol, he IS the chameleon. And really a hell of a guy...when he was in my city (Edmonton) he spent the morning at our conservatory of organics and plant life, the Mutart. As soon as he came onstage he rambled on and on about how wonderful the city is....of course he was right. Then he admitted to cutting off a couple of slips to pot and grow once he got home. Humble, approachable, serene, quirky odd genius.
