Well, now that Rob_E has made the genuinely kind gesture of offering free Gold membership to those with over 1,000 posts, there's no reason for most of the trolls to offer up any form of revenue, or even a contribution, to the site. You can go and just sit in the Count to 25K thread for an afternoon, clicking "submit" non-stop, and POOF, you're a Gold member. Yes, I know that it's been stated that abusing this offer won't be tolerated, but I'm here to tell you, that I can give you the name of a user with 187 pages (seriously!), of their 191 pages of posts, where there is at LEAST one entry on the 25K thread.

Another beef is the whole "verified" photo offer. There are now "verified" members, where they're holding the required LPSG sign, with no other identifying features in the photo, and there several other photos in the gallery, where the photos are obviously of someone else. "Verification" photos, SHOULD be to prove that all of your other photos are in fact YOU, not that you just took a picture of some stupid little sign.

You expect that one or two would abuse the system, and could be dealt with, but I'm just seeing abuse after abuse, and they just seem to be rubber-stamped with approval, to then wreak havoc. As someone who actually forked over the $60, it's a bit disheartening, and I almost feel suckered, with the troublemakers taking a free ride on the back of my, well, now, "donation".

On many boards, you're given a probationary period when you join. On others where I belong, Mods have to approve your submitted messages, either for a set period, or set number of posts.

Anyway, bannings + member flight + trolls + fakes + solicitation for improvements that are never carried out + protection of the offenders + punishment of the victims + lessening of community + (you get the idea) = a nasty little mess that this place has become :sad2:

Exactly. This little clique that has developed here causes more problems than they solve...they only care about themselves and rarely offer advice to people that aren't in their little posse, which is kind of sad that these adults have so much time on their hands they can form an internet posse to begin with...but that's another subject. Many in this posse feel it is ok to dog on people for asking questions that they feel other people should already know, and it goes against the spirit of this site. It's reached the point where if you mess with one of them, you have 6 more to deal with. Apparently it's ok for them to troll other people but it's not ok for other people to troll them, and honestly, I don't know why they are all bitching so much about this site, if they don't like it, then go to your other exclusive site and gossip, it's not like any of these people can't interact outside of this site because most of them know each other personally. If you don't like it, go to your other site, that's what it's there for, it's that simple.

In contrast to popular belief here, this site doesn't revolve around these people, isn't going to fall apart from the loss of these people, and the loss of 10 nonpaying members should be the last thing the mods and Rob E are worried about. Don't take this as a slam, because some members of the Penis Posse are very cool, respectful people and have a lot to offer, but some of them are also very condescending and speak with a sense of entitlement. A little house cleaning never hurts, and this little fiasco has helped show the true colors of some of our most "respected" members. Thanks Pecker!

It is really weird to internet chat and cyber react with members-- Get used to them and find out they are BANNED. I didn't converse with HUNGMUSCLE that much...but I did get to when I first came to LPSG. We talked about bossa nova. Brazil. His hubby. And life.

Recently I was reading some thread and I noticed that HUNGMUSCLE was BANNED. I was like "WHAT IN THE FUCK?! What did he do?" I asked a few people and they were very abstract in the answers. He violated the TOS." I was like "Okay." (That really helped. ).

But I understand the Terms of Service breaches and the BANNING gauntlet. I think that reasons for the BAN could be typed into that person's signature...or be put into a thread.

For example: HUNGMUSCLE was banned for violation of TOS: Having multiple accounts.
NINEINCHCOCK160IQ was banned for violation of TOS: Having a nude avatar.

NIC was banned for multiple accounts also. (This confusion may highlight your point)

Nude avatars won't result in a ban unless it's persistently done by the same user.
