I second that. On one of the links a poster said the armed forces routinely sprays blackbirds and starlings with substances that strip the natural oils from their feathers so they freeze or crash, as a population control.

Dont mind saying i had a similar thought re our Snapper Deaths, cept i was casually attributing ours possibly to recent Natural occurences,

The quite Major earthquake we suffered several months ago, even now aftershocks continuing ( in fact one the other day was almost as large as the original/same area)
Anyway, since that quake there were several Whale strandings ( we have quite a few NZ) but these latest were partially attributed to the Quakes, (who knows how severe the aftershocks are down the ocean floor etc) and the Whales possibly losing there bearings ..
Perhaps the Snapper were similarly affected

No Doubt many a scientist will pooh pooh the idea as quickly as i / and perhaps many other similar thinkers have surmised it.

Yeah, but blackbirds and the other ones DON'T fly at night. Actually birds are blind at night, they can't see anything. Why would they be flying around?

I read that the blackbirds suddenly startled in the middle of the night and began flying into walls and buildings. That is consistent with the noise hypothesis. Nobody is saying what the noise was.

I am sorry...but someone is lying through their teeth on this one. I am not buying the fireworks theory...so the avian autopsies attributing the kills to internal trauma are either a bald face lie or cover up. Think about it; highly toxic substances were used to clean up the gulf oil spill....these toxins were theoretically carried into the food chain. They were also picked up by the gulf stream, which leads to the north Atlanta drift which runs parallel to .....guess where......Sweden!! Why would they lie about this? because these toxins are now embedded in OUR food chain and it would set off a wee bit of panic.
Serious...I am not a conspiracy kinda guy at all...but barring the Mayans returning to earth in the spaceships they fled in or some hypersuperubersecret EMP weapon testing (that Wikileaks would have found out about and reported 3 months ago anyway) the explanation of this phenomenon so far fails the smell test BIG time.

Here's my theory. The animals are going crazy for a massive earthquake that will hit soon.
The New Madrid fault line is becoming more and more active.
We all know animals have a keen sense of danger coming before humans.

I think you've got 2 things going on:
1. New Years fun with fireworks and cherry bombs spooked the animals causing them to crash into one another and drop dead. The fish could have died from numerous deep depth charges from homemade cherry bombs. (Theyre fun, I know)
2. The animals are grouping together in flocks to stay safe because of a natural disaster that is coming. That natural disaster is an earthquake replicating the force of 1812. It's coming.

Think about that - a major earthquake in todays world.
All roads destroyed.
All bridges gone.
All Electricity out
All Gas and Water out. All the lines would be ruptured.
Fire sweeping the cities.
The dollar being absolutely meaningless.

The animals are smart. Hopefully humans are watching carefully.
I would get a few gallons of distilled water to tuck away in your pantry. It'll keep for a long time, and it may be handy to have on hand in the event something big does happen, you'll need basic food for about 3 months or longer. Canned goods, dry vacuum packed goods.
Doesn't hurt to buy precious metals and have them IN YOUR HANDS. If disaster hits...the govt siezes all bank assets and your investment with it.
