OK. While channelsurfing this morning I caught the show. yes. i watched the Tyra show. A straight guy watched the Tyra show and it was about gay for pay. w/e.
Saw the show. Saw that Dean guy. His girlfriend was in the audience and she declared them to both be bisexual, while he insisted that he was 100% straight.
When Tyra asked him if he got aroused when doing gay things for pay he acted as thought he did not. If i am not mistaken, i think he has been aroused. So whatever he does and works for him and girlfriend and career ok.
There were guys that were straight bartenders at gay bars. Now this is something I was wondering about. I wonder if i could be a a bar tender at a gay bar and if i would do well. Of course i would have to learn how to make something other than a martini or open a beer.

I recorded it, then watched it...
I am so offended at how Tyra went about addressing the subject.
She made it sound as if gay men are idiots who will just accept anything.

Tyra is so immature in how she asks her questions.

Thankfully, she had one of the editors from The Advocate present to 'straighten' things out.

Currently not living in the US this is the first clip I've seen from the TB show, and I have to say that I'm very disappointed of Tyra. I would like to think that she was less prejudiced and foolish after what she have experienced.
After all the guy lost his job because he was doing porn !!! that's outrageous. Gay or straight. and she goes on " jabbin" about what is most gay , givin or taking ??

I worked at a gay bar. Yes, they had straight bartenders. I didn't flirt with any of them. (Okay, I flirted with two.:frown1: But am a horn dog. :biggrin1:) Anyway, I don't really like the "gay-for-pay" thing. I think that it puts straight men on a pedestal. It puts gay men at a peripheral disadvantage.

I love and respect my fellow straight guys...but it really blurs the scene...you never know who you are. Aren't gay men good enough for gay men?

In regular movie production, I really hate it that in these "gay themed" films you have straight actors in those parts as gay men. I am like: Aren't there some talented gay actors? Can they play a decent role in those movies? Gay men are either like silly faggots or cross dressing serial murderers...or prison sex rapist/shanker/Vogue dancers. :frown1:

If you really met me in real life, I am common as a US penny. I don't own a feather boa or any MAC Cosmetics. I am a regular guy. I am just as good as any of those straight guys. But then, what I think...is a tantamount to a bee pissing on a Petunia. Heh.

Sometimes, I do get tired of "the gay-for-pay" threads. I just humor the masses and agree with whatever. I throw the hands up. "Yeah, gay men have to have a straight man in there. Yeah, straight men french each other in the gym lockerrooms. Their wives and girlfriends think that it is hot.:wink:"

Oh, I agree that you are straight. I could tell from your first scene on Straight College Men. (I was like this one is really working hard. That made the scene not very sexy at all. The gay men can tell. ) I think that somehow the producer has the straight college guy fetish really bad.

It really doesn't matter if straight men do gay porn. As long as they're happy, what's the problem?
The money's good and if they feel comfortable with it, good for them.
Also, the guys who say they would never do gay porn.... if you need money and you don't have a job...they WILL do it. It's ridiculous to think they would rather be homeless than do gay porn. They're just too afraid to admit it.

Btw, I do believe Dean is straight and a job is just a job. Only he found one where he can make a lot of money by doing something SOME people don't approve of.

If he's happy with his job and gf, good for him. Leave him alone.

I don't have a problem with Dean. I am happy that he is happy with his job.
He makes a lot of money. Everyone is happy. And Dean doesn't need my approval. He is an adult man.

I have issues and probably more questions with the "gay-for-pay" scenario NOT Dean.
I know that Dean is straight from his videos that he has done on STRAIGHT COLLEGE MEN and BOY MEETS GIRL. If I seem angry, I am not angry at Dean. I am angry at the concepts and the situations that created with the whole genre.

Concept: You have (a) rich gay guy or guys paying these straight guys huge amounts of money for sex. Is that right? Even for money? Did you ever consider that there may be some guy out there thinking that a straight guy can be had? Do you think that that is okay?

I have read on many of these threads on here about straight males are having gay male friends coming on to them inappropriately. Do you think that it is wise to create fantasies that "straight men" can be had like that? Why does it have to be a straight man? Why are they so special? Why are they the focus?

I know that the following may be stupid . But it is also relevant: Why aren't there "straight-for-pay" porn scenarios(The gay guy gets paid vast amounts of money to fuck straight women.) ?

Either way, gay men are getting a peripheral role in all of this. There are victims on both sides of the coin. You have the performer. And you have the gay person who buys the fantasy that straight men can be had. That is the problem.

I watch porn. Some of it-- I don't understand.

Some will. Some won't. But this is not a judgment on those that do.

Sleeping with a person...or having no money for food and living in the streets...

honoustly, everybody would do that. The only people who say they wouldn't are straight guys with enough cash to live.

Well, I think that there are straight men that would prove you wrong. I have worked in mixed clientele clubs. I was always respectful of the straight guys that worked at the club. I EVEN helped get some of those guys get dates there.

There are some straight guys that would prove me wrong though. I am not judging them or anyone in a "gay-for-pay" situation. I don't like what
it appears or what it does to those guys that is all. I don't get turned knowing that straight guys are getting paid for it. What does that say about gay men? Are gay men bankable and worthy to fuck their own?
Why are straight guys the focus of the whole thing? Why are they so special? Again, gay men are in the peripheral scheme of things. Fucking straight guys will not get you gay marriage.

It's not political and it's certainly not mysterious or complicated. It's the age-old forbidden fruit thing--just ask Eve. We crave what we don't think we can get, but certainly don't try stopping. Is it entirely fair? No, but that's the way it is and I wouldn't expect that to change in the near future. (And no, it's not self-loathing or anything else pejorative; those ideas come from overly analytical people who have had far too much "therapy.")

All I know is, if I were interested in a porn career and I were bi or gay and able to pull off a somewhat convincing "straight" persona, I'd be telling those producers that I'm 100% straight, never even had a gay thought run through my head. From what I've read, it appears that assures a bigger paycheck for the performance. Maybe, just maybe, a few other guys have figured that out, too.
