I have many friends around the world and many sites on which I post. I am still composing an extenxive list of those to notify in the even of my death. Not that it will effect anyone on any site or for that matter in real life, but nonetheless I feel it is polite to at least keep people informed in such a matter. Per this site, I have made good friends and it would be known.

I guess part of the reason people post at all is to get their thoughts out there... circulating thru other minds...perhaps repeated... or re-posted...

a faint echo, long after you are gone, of something you once said....

I mainly post for the hear and now. Maybe I will reveal a little bit about myself, or help someone through a problem they have..and thereby make things a little better. I'm certainly not here to debate or to leave my lifetime contribution to humanity.

There are a few on here in which I have intense feelings for, and with whom I enjoy sharing my life. If I were to kick the bucket suddenly, they would probably know about it as soon as it hit the press. In the meantime, I hope people will enjoy me, and I will enjoy their company. Once I'm gone, my life's legacy will live on in many meaningful ways.

I'll leave instructions for my lawyer in my will... :veryhappy:
That is a good plan.

You guys will just have to wonder if I am on a long hiatus...or not.
In the event of your untimely demise I want your antiques and books. :biggrin1:

My old employer had a clause in the employment contract that said you lose all your sick days and vacation time in the event of your death.
Well duh, you won't need them in the afterlife.

If I remember correctly, a member did die about a year ago, a christopher something or other--very young guy. He had recently come out and went on his first date with a guy. Then ended up dating and then he was killed in an automobile accident. The new bf used his account to tell everyone about his passing. I found it all unbelievably sad.

There was something very much like that in which it turned out that the guy hadn't died.
I can't remember if it was subterfuge by the 'dead' LPSG member or by the bf.
Anyone?

There was another member a couple of years ago that everyone enjoyed talking to named Jeepwranglerboi whose real name was Kyle he died of unfortunate circumstances and it took a while that someone so young and vital was swept away in a flash.

As for if people would know. I would hope those with whom I talk to at least once a week by phone would at some point switch from using my cell to my home phone and find out the real deal but the sad fact is that if your own neighbors can go for 2 years and not know someone in your house has passed it doesnt bode well.

There was a senior citizen lady who I knew from a former job and one day she fell down at home and could not move. She was down for a whole day and the next day, luckily, when she missed her appointment, her hairdresser called the police and they found her. It's sad that she did not have anyone else to check on her.

ISnt it? I think we all walk that thin line between being nosey and caring. I would rather be nosey than find out someone I say I care about has begun rotting because they have been dead in their house for week before anyone noticed they were missing.

as for the moment I live alone and could possibly lay in this house until the neighbors start smelling something funny. If I manage to get thru to 911 I tell them to contact LPSG before they send an ambulance.

There are cases, most notably in Germany of people being dead YEARS and nobody notices. Pensioners with automatic payments for all their bills, everything is paid, no problem, nobody notices. I still for the life of me can't figure out the smell factor in those cases.

But back to the topic
If I stopped posting I don't think anyone would notice... (or care) Always sad when u find out someone u knew online died. Sux even more when you get a mass email to everyone in their email addressbook specifying funeral arrangements, date, place, time.

I admit i think about calling when any place in my neighborhood smells dead.

In the sweltering 99 degree whether a dead squirrel can make for a gross stench when walking the dogs. I check on my neighbor when i don't see her for a while.

geez, darling. you're making me depressed.

Are you proposing to me?? j/k:tongue:

back off! i already have a hotbtm and a Canadian to get through.

and back to the topic, i just noticed that if i died, no one here would know. I've only ever given my real first name to two people. one doesn't post anymore, and one hasn't in a long time. Most peeps know i live in the Bahamas, but no idea how i look. Plus, no one around me knows that i post here. rather sad when you look at it. :(

and DoubleMeatWhopper died?!! yikes.

it happened once at another forum I was on. His sister came on and told us, and it was in the papers. It was quite a shock, and I admit, I was saddened.

So what about you? Have you thought about how no one would ever know about your passing on when it comes to your internet life?

Yes, I have, for a few reasons:

1. A frequent poster at another forum I used to visit died of cancer. When it got to the point that there's was nothing left to be done, and he knew he didn't have much time left, he told the board about his illness. Some people had contact with him outside of the forum, so when he went into the hospital they shared the news. When he died, his girlfriend logged in with his account and let us know.

2. Several years ago my grandmother's sister and brother-in-law died of carbon monoxide poisoning. My grandmother's other sister survived, but had been unconscious on the floor for about 5 days, and never fully recovered. Unfortunately, with 3 senior citizens living together, it took a few days for anyone to notice that no one had seen them come out of the house.

3. One of my father's co-workers had family in Boulder, CO. Neither she or her family had heard from her brother in a while, but that wasn't all that unusual. He was the sort of person to take a trip or go camping without telling anyone, so at first they didn't worry. But when he didn't call anyone on Christmas, they started to worry. So they called the Boulder police who went to his apartment and found him dead.

as for the moment I live alone and could possibly lay in this house until the neighbors start smelling something funny...

Same here. Sometimes when I'm showering or standing on a stool changing a light bulb, it occurs to me that if I fall and kill or injure myself, by the time anyone notices, it'd probably be too late. If I failed to show for work, HR would call my parents, but if the accident happened on a weekend or when I was taking some time off, it might take a few days before that would happen.

You guys will just have to wonder if I am on a long hiatus...or not.

Again, same here. No one I know in real life knows that I post here, and I'm not in touch with any members outside of the public areas of the forum (i.e., there isn't anyone I regularly chat or pm with, nor does anyone here have my e-mail, phone number, or real name). If I were to choose to leave, it's unlikely I would announce my departure. (It's more likely that my life got busier and more interesting, until I eventually just stop coming here altogether.) So if and when I leave lpsg, it will be a mystery, although I don't expect anyone would notice.

Kyle was a great guy. I feel bad I'd forgotten. That was sad and it brings back a bunch of memories.

I fully believe senior citizens should have one of those help-I've-fallen-and-can't-get-up! pendants. I've even thought of getting one for myself should I live alone. All the things that can happen to you are just awful. I worry most about my dogs. They're not tall enough to reach the toilet for water and I'd hate to think of them starving to death.

Soon our houses will be able to monitor our health and intervene should something happen. Until then, we're really on our own and have to rely on our ability to get hold of a gadget to communicate with someone.

I know, i worry about my three dogs and cat, but man my crabs would stink up the place worse than the 100lb dog i think.

I try not to think about it but i have a strange mind sometimes.

hey mom, could you do me a favor? When I die, can you log onto large penis support group, and let all my homo and size queen buddies know? Oh, and here are a few extra pictures to post in my gallery. Be a babe, will ya, and get a good picture of my "rigormortis" to post there too.
