Not sure if we have ever aired our thoughts on not being.

Personally, I don't give a shit about being dead. I am concerned about other people being dead though.

I don't mind death ,suffering in this life is far worse than death.

I have had a good life. I had a lot of fun in my 20's. Things could have gone bad at a few points in my life but did not, and for that I am grateful.

Am I afraid of death?...Yes. For myself and for my loved ones.

I've never feared death per se. When I was younger (and I must admit, still a little bit to this day), I feared what would happen to me after I die - I grew up going to "hellfire and brimstone" churches and I have feared that I would go to hell for all my life, even though I actually don't believe there is such a place as hell (now I fear that I will turn out to be wrong about that).

And, having been close to death, and in an excruciating amount of pain, I fear that I will have to go through that level of pain again before I die.

    Just?

Our knowledge of our mortality - perhaps that is what I should have posted.

Hey ho - maybe next time round.

The main in doctrine Of buddhism is about the 4 nobles truths and the 8foldpath.
The first noble truth is the truth of suffering.

I'd prefer not to die until my kids are on their own.

Most live like as if they going to live forever . Most people live as if death would happen for certain in many years , when infact we could be very closed to it without knowing it.

You bring life into the world under sentence of death - why worry?

I want to live fast, do everything, sky dive, mountain climb, write a series of best selling books, be called a genius by people on the street, make love, have three kids, then when they're in their 20's and in their father's footsteps, I'll shoot myself in my study. (In my mansion, should have mentioned that part as well)

Yes, I just said it, suicide, not for any bad reason, but simply because no other form of death seems comfortable, we all have to die, so it might as well be in our control. (I'd wait till my late 60's young enough for me)

Edit: This may sound crazy, but I'm kinda looking foreward to it. Perfect end to a perfect day.

Yup. We are born to die.
Still, your question is a bit silly.
The fear has nothing to do with rational considerations.
Fear in general almost never does.

Worry, which you mentioned, is a species of fear.

No - concern is a different level of rationality.

Being inevitable, I don't 'worry' about the actual dying, though the uncertainty of its manner sometimes gives me pause for thought.

    Concern is not worry.
(But we're starting to split hairs. In your original post, I think, or one just after, you mention 'concern,' and then later, you mention 'worry.')

Why worry about the lives you create?

Let's not split hairs. let's pick them out of our teeth in the morning.
