Debt collector creates a fake court system...

    Fuck me that is extreme.

    Currently facing something similar myself right now in the UK, but what these collections company's do, is carpet bomb you with demand letters, demanding payment, even if it's statute barred (5 years from last contact in Scotland, 6 years for the rest of the UK).

    Already had one forgo any payment, and looking like this second one I have will end up being the same.

    The way to attack these scumbags if you have a genuine claim, is to mail DIRECT VIA registered / Tracked / Recorded mail, so you have a proven log the company has received the letter, and that the letter be mailed to the company's registered HQ in the country you reside.

    What this letter needs to contain, will depend where you live, and what sort of debt is being challenged, but you will get a much better response if you write direct to the company's main registered HQ.
