Delaware senate voted this afternoon to update state law with marriage equality. Roll call vote was 12-9; the DE house passed it a couple of weeks ago. When the governor signs it this evening, it will make Delaware the 11th state to update its marriage laws more inclusively.

In the course of the vote, state senator Karen Peterson came out as a lesbian to emphasize the personal aspect of what the vote means.

When NJ renames its separate-but-equal civil unions "marriages", there will be marriage equality along the North American Atlantic coast from Maryland/DC to Canada.

Right! And your post went up barely 15 minutes before the Minnesota House of Representatives voted 75-59 in favor of marriage equality. Wow, civil rights are coming fast.
