i believe the best option is to leave the conversation.. i can't see a way to delete it entirely

I prefer to "leave" conversations than delete them.

can both party invite persons to their conversation
it depends on the settings applied at the beginning of the conversation:
So, the 'allow anyone in the conversation to invite others' will allow all members to invite to the convo
Moderators do not have access to private conversations and cannot delete content. Unless both people leave the conversation, they cannot be deleted.
