Hi.

Some months back, my ex-friend and I got into a misunderstanding on facebook. I didn't sign back in for a few days. When I did, I clicked his profile to send him a message and found that ALL our previous messages were deleted - it was clean as a whistle. For certain, I did NOT delete the messages from my end because I didn't know how and never made a habit of deleting anything; and he did not block or unfriend me then or anything (but we dont talk anymore now). From google search, one can delete one's messages but they can still be seen by the other party in the conversation.

That said, how was he able to delete all the messages in our conversation so that none of the messages could be seen by either party?

Please help.

My advice is to quit Fakebook all together. I did so over a year ago, and I don't miss it one bit. There was life before Fakebook and there's life after it. People tend to feel emboldened to say things there that they would never say to your face. I fell out with a family member and an old friend on Fakebook because they were unbelievably rude to me. I have cut off all contact with them now even in the real world. In addition to toxic behavior from strangers as well as some friends and family, it's full of hackers and trolls. You will find out very quickly who your real "friends" are once you delete your account.
