What is your plan Democrats? You just keep losing and losing. You've lost every election since Trump was elected. The American public is not interested in your far left politics. More and more middle class Americans want nothing to do with you. Obamacare was a disaster and now you are just the party of obstruction. Average Americans want jobs, low taxes, a good standard of living, low cost health insurance and secure borders but all you offer them is men in the ladies room, a failing health system, fake Russia investigations, crazy Nancy and Cryin' Chuck.

What is your plan?

You are wrong. There have been 5 special elections since Mr Trump was elected. At his Iowa campaign rally recently he said that Republicans have gone 5 and 0. He lied. They have actually gone 4 and 1 losing the special election in California-34th.

Wholly embrace the false consensus effect, confuse resistance against poor legislation with vote generation, make no policy shifts, not even on low hanging fruit like immigration vetting, and maintain confidence that dissatisfaction with Trump will by itself turn into a wellspring of support for Democratic politicians, even in districts which have been gerrymandered so that they favor Republican candidates.

Have left leaning news outlets maintain laser focus on every stupid, inconsequential thing Trump does or says so that more important communication, especially as regards Democratic solutions to any given issue, gets lost in the noise, and stay blindly confident that come 2020 our currently unidentified frontrunner will be well positioned to Destroy Trump using the 5% of TV airtime he or she gets.

"We're not Trump! We're not Trump! We're not Trump!" This will be our battle cry as we soldier forward. But fear not, for those who want more information, we'll have a website link for people who want to read more that has a few empty promises about bringing back jobs, restoring our place in the world diplomatically, and saving social security.

Additionally, call liberals who point out the stupidity of what is effectively a do nothing plan conservatives in sheep's clothing because any constructive criticism is synonymous with betrayal.

Agree that Democrats are not providing the right message and have not yet figured out how to use bots, but the recent elections are in spite of Trump, not because of him, and in generally red districts. Both parties are in crisis mode - Republicans are caught between their agenda and Trump and Democrats can't get out of their own way. Time for people to focus on good leadership instead of just blindly lining up behind their "team." Next set of elections will be dominated by bots until everyone figures them out.

I'm not a democrat, independent here... but I like this platform:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Justice_Democrats#Platform

https://justicedemocrats.com/

(sorry, too lazy to pretty up the links.)

It's an interesting concept, but congress is too partisan (and likely to remain so for the near future) to get the constitutional amendment even put out there for public vote. The constitutional amendment would be needed because without it, any related legislation would get invalidated by the Supreme court (by way of rulings which decided that giving money to political candidates is analagous to exercising free speech and also decided that corporations enjoy many of the same constitutional protections and rights that people do).

I know... but I figured it was worth mentioning at least :)

Rural America that elected Trump is still as bad off as before and getting worse. But the Republicans know how to appeal to those voters though fear. For democrats and progressives winning the rural America vote is a non-starter. Cities will become the new nation-states as the ideals, mission and goals will most likely never align with rural populations.

Speaking demographically, Republicans are likely to maintain an advantage in rural areas (and in states which are predominantly rural). Constituents will be more likely to attend church services regularly, for example.

That said, Dems have room to do better than they are now, particularly by targeting areas which may be of interest to rural voters (job retraining opportunities for those industries like coal which are in a decline for which nothing can be done to address the decline itself, assistance for victims/families caught up in the current opioid epidemic (true story, Chrome doesn't even recognize opioid as a correctly spelled word), a more balanced approach to gun ownership rights, ease restrictions / obstacles to small business ownership where possible, etc).

If you look at the primaries, Bernie Sanders had stronger showing in the rural areas compared to Hillary Clinton, so it's not even a foregone conclusion that some of those districts couldn't be won with a left-leaning platform, but at minimum we could be doing better. Even if Dems still lose rural areas overall, doing better will help mute some of districting antics that are currently in place (even if the fully rural districts still swing GOP, it makes some of the more hybrid districts more competetive for Democrats where district boundaries are drawn to try and pad the GOP vote with more rural voting).

I couldn't have said it any better. Both parties are full of shit.

If LPSG had a Post of the Month feature, I would nominate this one.

What is your plan?
Job, low tax, good standard of living, low cost health care and secure borders...

After Bush destroyed millions of jobs, Obama created at least as many - even Trump is celebrating the job increase during his first 100 days, while everyone witha little brain would understand that the economy development of Trump's firat 100 days is still influenced by Obama. - jobs, cheque.

Low tax... well Obama reduced the tax, but you are right, the republicans are the teue low tax kings... but I doubt that's what the people really want. - no cheque

Good standard of living... you just reduced the tax. A good standard is no longer on the table.

Low cost health care... Obama made a good offer, now it remains to be seen what Trp delivers. All we know from him is: "health care is more complex as anyone could have ever thought"... doesn't sound like Trump could improve the system.

Secure borders...the best way to secure them, is to fight the reasons why people leave their home country. Walls aren't a good solution. Believe a German, if he tells you so.

So, what will the democrats do? What should they do? Maybe act like Republicans a threat to shut down the whole gov/administration.
