Have no insight into the minds of him or the other OF guys but I imagine they see that they can make a lot of money with a relatively limited amount of effort once you get over the public exposure element. I'm not sure what cut OF take but he has 50k subscribers at $25 a month and that's before tips or people buying his extra content. Given he wasn't going to be a trader or M&A lawyer or something I would imagine he's earning more than in any other form of employment.
