that was my favorite show growing up, when they showed it over here in the USA back in the early 80s.

it is still hysterical.

Rick was my favorite character of all time. that show was utterly genius, and Rik Mayall, as Rick, made that show...his comedic acting in that, both in terms of facial expressions, vocal, and physical comedy were absolutely incredible...

i can still watch that show today and it holds up...and still has me in tears at least 20 times an episode...

who can forget these scenes...and watch how brilliant Rik is in it:

the "party"...just look at his little dance...it is genius

and this one after he has killed Neil...whatch the way he comes down the stairs, grieving and crying, wringing his hanky, then sees the teddy bear and stomps on it...and the sounds he makes are just hysterical

anyone else a fan?

It's cool - Neil is the best. :p

I remember them doing a skit of 'Living Doll' with Cliff Richard in the 80s, lol.

I still love The Young Ones!

i know virtually every episode by heart.

i used to record them on video here in the early 80s, and i would watch them over and over and over...

so many brilliant lines.

it is sad that it was only two short seasons :frown1:

they could have gone for another couple of years and more episodes easily.

it was fantastic. i still have all my tapes...but you can also watch all th episodes on youtube.

Mike is the rubbish one that no-one remembers (apart from me), lol.
They remind me of that early 80s anarchistic comedy set, including Ben Elton and Tony Robinson.

Mike was annoying, but every once in awhile they had a good line or two from him,

when that door to door born again christian sees him and says "Aaaahhh...A locust!"

LOL
