Thought it was pretty funny. They should have just roasted each other 3 times instead of debating tired ass campaign slogans. So let the partisan battle begin:

WHO DO YOU THINK WON THE ROAST!?!?!

Haha, actually I think McCain was a little better, though they both did really well jabbing at themselves, each other, and their respective campaigns.

McCain was a little bit funnier but he had a script written by someone else while Obama wrote his own speech.

Huh? How do you figure Obama wrote his own roast? Do you just assume that because he is Apollo the Almighty? Are you one of those folk who believes he came from Krypton too? Beware, bias fucks with your head.

I think it really just goes to show that these people go up against one another, they play hard, some of it fair and some of it foul play, amongst themselves and in the end, it's all just a speech of a series of jokes. They all wind up sitting in the same room with a section reserved for their celebrity-ness, eating dinner over it and cracking jokes about it for a few hours. Not one of them is the average American. A vote for Obama or McCain is a vote for the same. Just me, but Obama says he never put lipstick on a pig or a pitbull. IMHO, He actually is just another shade of lipstick on the pig.

It amazes me that, although I thought some of it was funny as when each of them made fun of themselves but when we again heard digs guised as humor, it turned me off. Saying how you feel about someone and passing it off as humor is blatant dysfunctional passive aggressiveness. Perhaps it is a statement about our entire society that so many comedians, or in this case would-be comedians, have no material of their own and must cut someone else down and make fun of them in public in order to get a laugh.

If there was any truth to what McCain has been saying about Obama, then he should've declined the invite, "I will not share the stage with a muslim terrorist". Instead, he on more than one occassion referred to Obama as "my friend and senate colleague".

Since he is a friend of Obama, does that make McCain a terrorist now too?

And that is why I said what I did, when they pan the audience, you see them all, they are all in the most enviable of American Country Clubs. All just sitting there laughing at one another and raking the dough in with an employer that pays arguably the best benefits on the planet. They even point the finger and start talking about the other being a terrorist, making light of it. I wonder if anyone that ever lost someone since or even prior to 9/11/2001 to terrorism thought it funny ? These are our leaders roasting each other like they were still in high school.

15shooter, that is also a very valid analogy of the roast speeches and they most certainly worked their speeches and craft right up to the very bitter end of the time they have on stage before votes are cast. Again, not very far from one of these two wants to be your high school class President ?

If I had only read transcripts, I would have said that they were about equally funny, but having seen the videos, I think that McCain had the edge. His delivery of the bit about his and Obama's names for each other made me laugh out loud, even though I had already read about it and knew that it was coming. It was almost as funny as watching a comedian do an imitation of John McCain.

Certainly as far as those who don't make up their minds until they pull the lever, punch the card, or push the button until the last minute because they usually vote personality. That is why the McCain campaign is doing as well as it is, Palin's personality, she's just like a high school cheer leader. Sadly, her brain is about the same.

the man is a law graduate
he was the president of the harvard law review
he was a litigator
a law professor
a legislator

it is known (and has been widely discussed) among many his skill in writing and orating

show me proof.

It has been widely discussed among many that he is a socialist, a terrorist, and a muslim. Does that make it true?
