One of the things people say to bisexual men is "oh, you are actually gay and just scare to fully come out/ you will come out as gay sooner or later etc." but I wondered if anyone experienced reverse like "oh you are straight but just pretend to be different/cool/whatever you are str8 but you just experimenting etc."
Actually I only observed this kind of talk in music- like Yungblud who identify as pansexual but is often accused of infamous queerbaiting and of course in pornography where there are tons of bisexual guys(duh!) where basically evey bi guy is according to some str8 because you know there is no fuckin way this white, muscled twenty-something jock can possibly be into guys.
Did anyone experienced something like that in your daily life or its only Twitter troll phenomena?

Yes. Some gay men have presumed I'm straight but most are in the you're-gay-and-don't-know-it-yet camp. Some insist. Some actively recruit. "Just admit it."

After all these years it still amazes me that so many people think in terms of black and white and miss all the shades of gray between.

I'm also amazed so many equate sexuality with identity. How limiting is that?

Liberate thyself from the repression of categories and labels ye humans!

I have met few gay guys who have said this to me, however most I've met accept and respect that I am bi.

I do only meet guys for sex and not for dates, so the guys who are gay are meeting me because they want sex

There always seems to be confusion between what is str8 and what is Straight. Can you define straight?

Not in real life. I don't ever remember having those kinds of discussions. It seems to be more idle chatter over the internet more than anything else.

There are many of us that are closeted bi. And just like my profile suggests, my preoccupation of my bi side constitutes about 30% of my sexual desire. I'm more likely to get turned on by a hot looking woman than a man in most in-person situations. To me, being gay involves a much more involved if not more romantic approach with another man.

growing up i acted more feminine than most girls did--but as i got older i became more manly-- and got to point gay guys couldnt tell if i was gay--- the good thing for me was people in the area at that time/and age i was everyone pretty well knew i was gay

but i did get with girls every now and then

Actually if you had to give labels, while I am straight in 95% of my life, the other 5% Im probably "trans" when I am alone privately with my fuckbuddy. Ive noticed, I tend to be feminine with him even outside of sex when I stay at his place. I enjoy the role play and he encourages and welcomes it, at the end of the day, its role play between consenting adults.

I did an internet search and as far as I can tell, str8 is just a typing abbreviation for straight. There is no difference in meaning between the two.

It wouldn't surprise me if there was some difference in meaning in some spaces, tbh. But for the most part I think this is it.

I don't think it's as common for bi men to hear the "you're actually straight" as it is for bi women, but it does occasionally happen. Obviously "you must actually be gay" is more common.
Bi Guys who are not feminine at all and don't "ping someone's gaydar" are often accused of being "actually just straight" and lying about being bisexual. Happens frequently here on LPSG sadly. Moreso than real life bc these twats wouldn't dare say that in person of course lol. I think this must stem from internalised homophobia. Some narrow minded gays can't imagine someone being queer to some degree and not being feminine (I assume like they are). Pathetic stuff.

The irony is that here on LPSG there are a lot of bi guys who look like those stereotypical white hunks those guys see in their porn and nobody dare to say "you are straight" lol.
