Fascinating subject. Um.. It does disgusts me but then again I don't watch gayporn voluntarily.. so it doesn't really bother me 'cos I don't watch it on purpose.

I'm wanting to hear other peeps opinion on this issue. I haven't seen that many guys having sex with each other but when I have I feel self-conscious as fuck. I've seen some guy-on-guy porn and I always feel a little uncomfortable watching it. They look so vulnerable being together intimately. Do you think this is a homophobic reaction or just my own fear? I don't care what other people do sexually with each other, but watching it feels strange sometimes. Thanks.

There is a lot of gay porn that I find disgusting (about a third of it) .... and about a third of it is beautiful (I like bel ami a lot)
I havent really watched enough straight porn to say if I find any of it disgusting ... it just makes me feel uncomfortable and awkward that's all ....but it's not as if one ever really sees much (if any) porn by accident so I can't really say.... I think if someone gets so obsessed by this question they must be dealing with identity issues which are maybe repellent to them ... I don't think 99+% str8 guys really think much about this question ...

Thanks for everyone's thoughts on this. Like I said before I haven't had much causal sex with guys,only with peeps I'm close to. I don't know if I could have sex or make love with a guy I didn't trust and know really well. I guess it's just my comfort level. And yeh it seems very intimate to me seeing two guys together & maybe it's just true that it's not a common sight in this culture.

I'm sorry if I misunderstood you. I think it's just a little difficult for me to get where you are coming from because my experience is almost the exact opposite ... but suffice to say that I grew up in a culture where any form of sexual expression was taboo (although I had lots of experiences behind closed doors it was all gay) so I am not used to seeing straight couples getting it on being intimate and exposed and vulnerable and it makes me feel quite anxious and disconcerted to see ... so maybe that's kinda what you are experiencing a bit but in reverse.

I thought what Hung Jon meant when saying, vulnerable, is usually guys tend in public to be somewhat "macho" and "he-man." Yet, when you read other threads on this sight about things like peeing in public restrooms, or taking a shower in a gang shower room, or undressing infront of other guys in a locker room, etc., so many guys act like they want privicy...kind of staying away from the situation of "exposing" theirselves, if possible. Yet in the gay movies, these guys drop everything, every thread of clothes; they hold back from nothing and go as intimate as can get which goes against the "macho, he-man" image that men are thought of in general to women and a lot of straight men. That's the kind of vulnerable I understood from Hung Jon. I heard the gay actors do not receive near the pay that the porn women make, either.
I'm not saying either way is bad or good; just describing what Hung could have meant. When you watch gay movies, one of the guys plays what the usual women's part is in accepting a man's cock into their body. That's vulnerable, I'd say... in front of a camera to be marketed for others to watch.

I find gay or straight...some porn in general is just not sexy. Some is down right hot whoever the performer. People are ready for different material at different ages. I always new I was gay but it didn't mean I like watching all kinds of sex in my early 20's. Then, I use to see pictorials and frontal shots only as enjoyable. As I grew up my taste changed and I became less vanilla. It had more to do what I was ready for myself in the sack and how comfortable I was with me. Sometimes we are simply surprised to see something that is not of the norm yet there is nothing wrong with it. I mean, when I see a male couple hold hands I do a double take. Nothing wrong with it...it is just not the norm of what I am use to seeing. This unique quality can be percieved as uncomfortable but really it is just a hightened awarness of the moment becasue I am seeing something I don't take for granted. The more I see male couples holding hands, for example, the more of the norm it becomes. So when you see gay porn maybe it just isn't familiar to you or maybe you are not ready for this level.
For me any sex action with people has something entertaining in it....those weird things, not for me. (animals, body fluids, suffering and the like).

Okay, well.. I think that men are much more agressive when it comes to sexual relations. The fact that the agression is coming from both parties in the act could be the reason for the vulnerability.
In the typical straight sexual relation, there is only one person in control (which is the man). Yet, in a gay sexual relation, both have equal control.
So, that vulnerability that people may see in women during straight sex is divided between the men. It's that ambiguity of control that may make them seem vulnerable... At least that's my opinion.
