I downloaded a movie... (bad, I know)... and there is no sound. I downloaded the newest DivX codec program thingy... and I still have no sound. The ONLY reason this is annoying me, is because I've downloaded several (read - a ton) of movies from this person and have NEVER had this problem. I dunno wtf is wrong. :frown1: Anyone have any more ideas I could try?

What file extension is the movie? (.wmv, .mov etc)

I personally use VLC Player, it's handled every form of media I've ever thrown at it.

It's AVI - I've always played all my movies on Window Media Player 11 and haven't had a problem yet... but I can try that!

DivX supports multiple types of audio encodings. It sounds like you may have some, but not all, of the audio codecs that come with DivX. This FAQ might point you in the right direction. I'm not a Windows user myself, so I don't know the specifics of how to set these up.
