Since I have quite a hairy butt, I am considering doing some hair removal down there. I'm still a bit too embarrassed to go to someone else just yet. Does anyone else do this themselves? If so, how and what hair removal products work well?

You mean other than just shaving it yourself?

Can you go get it waxed? Generally speaking, waxers are professionals. They won't make you feel uncomfortable.

I hadn't considered shaving! Does it not leave a stubble? Also a bit afraid of taking a blade so close to the sestive area in case of niks and cuts... And is waxing, even by a professional not painful? I was thinking of trying a hair removal cream or something similar that's not too painful and easy to use.

You can try something like Veet. My ex did it for a long time and he so much preferred being smooth back there. Then he got waxed and he's hooked. Very little pain, though the first time, you will notice it. After a few times you become less sensitive. I'd recommend the waxing. You don't have to go all the way around - I mean, your cheeks, ass crack to your hole and balls. My ex does only his butt cheeks and leaves the hair around his hole alone.

I've done ball and pube waxing before, but that does hurt and I won't do it again. Honestly, the ass crack wax doesn't hurt bad at all. And you're left so smooth.

As for shaving, you won't cut yourself. The problem is missing spots. Having your crack waxed will alleviate that problem. In two strips of wax, all the hair in your crack will be removed.

I will not tell you waxing does not hurt. Women can handle it but most men can't. I'm not trying to start a fight, my best girlfriends work in a salon, so I'm there a lot. But, I still say wax it. Shaving is hard to do, and hurting yourself is likely the first time. Hair removal products I don't care for, but they hurt my skin and have never done a good job for me, and that was just my legs. I have had it all waxed, not so bad, and takes a long time to grow back. By far the best way outside of permanent removal.

I found shaving with a regular razor to be the least effective. It left stubble and there were places it was hard to get the angle right. Nair worked well, but I would get itchy bumps a few days later. Now I use the Norelco body groom. It doesn't leave it quite as smooth as Nair, but I'm more concerned with keeping the hair under control rather than removing it completely.

There are different types of wax too. One is the usual hot wax used with strips of cloth and there's cold wax which is applied and let to harden. It is then peeled off along with the hair. I can tell you the cold wax used on my balls didn't hurt at all compared to the strip type wax.

Hey all, thanks for the advice, it seems waxing is the way to go. Are there any other 'side effects' like redness, bumps, itchiness etc? I just want to do the butt/crack (maybe hole) and not sac or anything else, and then also, just to keep the hairiness under control.

The stubble that shaving leaves behind makes it not worth it. My ex didn't enjoy rubbing his dick on my stubbly ass. It hurt him too much. I just use the Norelco body groomer too. This doesn't shave it, but it leaves it really well trimmed, which I find I prefer.

I never had any side effects from a crack wax. It never itched, got red, or got bumpy. When you get your crack waxed, they will expect that you want your hole waxed, too. I sorta goes with the territory. You'll be asked to spread your cheeks so the waxer can get in there. Be prepared to say you don't want that - if indeed you don't.

I guess I'm the exception. I have all my pubes and my ass crack waxed every month.

I agree with all the waxing recommendations mentioned. Do it. It's somewhat painful, but you get used to it. Take 4 ibuprofens the morning of and everything else will be ok.

I don't know. I've never felt right about apply hair removing creams on my nuts and asshole areas. I used to shave till I got sick of the red bumps and the chore. Then, I started waxing till I got sick of the pain and the expense. Now, I just let it all grow naturally.

I've never heard of "cold" wax before. Typically what you're referring to is hard wax which has to be heated just like cream or soft wax except it simply hardens and gets pulled off without a cloth. The reason it doesn't hurt is that it only binds to the hair and not your skin. Cream/soft waxes bind to your skin and basically rip a layer off with the hair which is why it hurts. It's also why you aren't supposed to wax over a spot more than once per session.

I actually use hard wax on myself though it's a little bit of an awkward undertaking. I've considered having it professionally done but haven't built up the confidence to actually do that yet.
