Just thought it was time for another "do all gay men" thread. We have not had enough lately.
maybe the 20 somethings
Not me...I buy nice clothing!
You have heard from Industrialsize...let me add to the generational spread in respose to your question....what in the devil does Abercrombie and Fitch sell ? Pizzas, clothing or some sort of new cell phone? Abercrombie and Fitch????? Is not even on my radar!
Geez! Hehe. It's a trendy clothing store.
Abercrombie & Fitch
I have ONE Abercrombie and Fitch top, thats because it was on massive close down sale. I think they are a bit too overrated, they should just sell model magazines, their models are hot!
I remember going to the big A&F store in NYC with my dad when I was a kid. Back then it was a high end sporting goods store. Imagine my mixed feelings when it reincarnated as a source of frayed and hole filled clothing modeled by naked and nearly naked folks for people who've rarely been out of the city!
OH...I thought I was the only one who rememberd when it was a nice store...be careful you are going to date yourself!
tho I have been know to peruse their catalogue
Not me--wearing A&F crap is more likely to kill my interest in a person I'd otherwise find attractive than just about anything else . ..
I ask myself: WHY!?!?!? Why are you advertising for someone else?!?!?!
A&F is straight garbage...but I love Hollister. I know it's almost a contradiction, but they are very different brands.
That being said, NO! Not all gay men shop at Abercrombie...only the stereotypical ones. They also all go to clubs called "Twinkies" or "the Mineshaft" and they all drive Jettas.
I've succumbed to buying some of their stuff, partly because I do remember the original A&F and have a nostalgic bone or two in my body and partly because that gay 30% of me likes the way the things I've bought show off some of my assets.
It is sometimes hard to find nice clothes these days that DON'T have a label showing somewhere, but I must admit to an increasing desire NOT to provide free advertising for these people.
And, let's see, Nude, I could have gone to the old store with my dad when I was only five and right before it went belly-up in the late 1970s... I'd only have to be around 30 something to have done that... lol... but, yeah, I was a bit older and it was during the previous decade.
:biggrin1: I'm more likely to shop at The Leather Rack than at Abercrummy & Swish.
I'm with you...Leather comes from The Leather Man on Christopher St, otherwise I have to confess I do shop at Needless Markup!
I work construction, so I buy alot of work clothes at Steve and Barry's. I normally buy my nicer clothes at Nordstrom Rack (Nordstroms outlet type store).
Not a label queen here. I simply like nice clothes that look good and fit properly.
Steve & Barry's? Is that hot in the 'Go? In Cali Steve & Barry's is not appreciated whatsoever.
Everything at AF seems like it has been thru a shredder. I see it as thread worn deralict clothing. I personally do not fit in most all their clothes.
gawd i hate that place, except for the cruising
Oh, there were some great "gay" skits on Mad TV about A&F. Some are on You Tube. All the personnel are horse-playing, ignoring female customers, etc.
I like shoping at Barney's and Bloomingdales and Nordstrom and Neiam Murcus
and Holt Renfrew,
I think that Abercrombie and Fitch has the most boring mens clothing that there can ever be!
Have fun shopping guys...
