Don't call me babe! - YouTube
**the opening credits scene is the best..but I could only find it in Hungarian...She's undercover as a stripper and a guy calls her babe...she takes off her stilletto and throws it at the guy...impailing it in his head. Then says...Don't call me Babe. Then walks off* LOL

This is it.It's rather hot...and funny. BARB WIRE /A bosszú álló angyal/ - YouTube
As mentioned, depends on context. I do loathe seeing "hun" in text. Irritates me to no end.
To me all of those words translate into one of three categories:
Sweetness
Sexiness
or Sarcasm
I've used them for all three. I've had all three used on me. Depends on who is saying it.
Ha! Sometimes, it's meant as a compliment and nothing more. The problem is knowing when it's meant in a nice way. You never know if they're being sarcastic or nasty - so, I just ignore it. I don't want to wrongly thank someone.I'd say thanks. Definitely.
This is an excellent example. Let's say I pass Ms Dolfette in the street, step in a puddle and (without knowing) splash her new shoes.nice, arse.
Black guys can totally pull "baby" off. Lucky bastards. White guys find it much harder.
Exactly! It's meant nicely too - term of endearment, or just friendliness innit luv? This thread has been an eye opener to me! It's so common to call someone 'babe' or 'hun' or 'luv' where I live that I don't even notice it. I do it myself!

Yup, or kidda. :wink:They do use terms of endearment to other men too though - 'mate', 'fella', 'lad' etc.
strangers or acquaintances, not lovers.
