I would guess the difference is cultural rather than innate. For some reason Gay culture has more of an openness to nipple play (it's nearly a standard), and so more Gay men have an opportunity to become aware of their enjoyment of it. I strongly doubt there is an actual difference in the wiring on this matter between homosexual and heterosexual men.
