Hope people don't mind me renewing this thread, but I just recently visited my Dr. and have been experiencing a heart related issue called PVB (preventricular beats), related to stress, stimulant intake, etc. He gave me a couple of bottles of the beta blocker Coreg CR (carvedilol phosphate), and told me to try it for two weeks once a day and see if it helped. My blood pressure is only pre-hypertensive, usually it's fine, but lately it's slightly elevated due to increased stress. He gave me the lowest dose, 10mg, and I doubt seriously that taking it for only two weeks would cause a lasting problem, even if it does affect my erections in the short term. For age comparison, I'm 28. Does anyone have any experience with this drug? Also, from reading the thread, it seems that any BP medication only seems to affect erectile function while on the medicine, as soon as one comes off the medicine, pre-medicated function returns. My Dr. assured me of the same thing, but it's always nice to have someone who's actually been through it confirm this is true. Anyone?

Beta blockers CAN and DO cause erctile disfunction, but as you say everything reverts to normal when you stop taking them. Here are some links that:-

Less common side effects include:
  • sleep disturbances,
  • nightmares, and
  • impotence.
If your experiencing any problems after taking your medicine, visit your Doctor s/he will know about the side effects and will probably be able to prescribe a non beta blocker alternative.

Hope this helps

The benefits of using BP medication far outweigh the risk of side effects.

The combination of medication I take works better to control my blood pressure and has also reduced the risk of erectile dysfunction. However, my erections aren't so hard as they once were but I can still please my wife.

Since my last post I can still develop a decent enough erection but it is now harder to maintain it. Fortunately, it is still good enough to satisfy my wife.

Here's my two cents.
Medication dependency anyone? I know I was hooked.
Maybe it's everyone's diet?
It was my personal experience a few years ago.
Almost every post on this thread has some guy confessing to taking hundreds of dollars of HB or ED medication a year trumped up by the Big Pharma. Attached is a clinical video regarding sugar consumption called "Sugar The Bitter Truth" by Dr. Lustig:
Sugar: The Bitter Truth - YouTube
The video is long and clinical but in essence, he states that over consumption of sugar/fructose manufactures Uric Acid thru the liver in men's blood stream. Uric Acid is the stuff that suppresses Nitric Acid production in the blood stream. Therefore:

More Uric Acid = Less Nitric Acid = weaker boners.

Is a glazed donut worth a limp dick? It's worth trying to eliminate the sugar in your diet, and its incredibly cheap!
