Ok, I'll play along, even though the original question quickly devolved into the catch-all "so what gets you off, ladies?!!"

As has been discussed before, most porn is aimed at a male audience (straight or gay). Back in the day when the first stag films were rolling out of Ye Olde Pornoe Shoppe it was thought women would be a) offended and b) if not that, then for sure never aroused (the old "men respond to visual stimulation, women ehhhhhh not so much" sweeping generalization). Soooooo, since most commercial porn is aimed at guys, no, I don't find much of it entertaining. I don't like watching people (male or female) who perform like wind-up dolls. Forget the dialogue (and the music - eek), can't the director at least suggest that the performers "act" like they're actually enjoying the sex they're having on that hot soundstage in front of various crew members and those 3 fat Teamsters? And as soon as I see a woman on her back on a waterbed wearing thigh-high leopard-skin boots with 6-inch lucite heels, I'm sorry, any possibility of arousal is lost in peals of laughter. That's just wrong on so many levels. Having said all that, I would still gladly worship at the altar of Peter North.

I have heard there are some alternative porn production companies exploring various niches and fetishes, but I'm not really kinky enough to know much about that. I do think the current DIY porn movement is very interesting... and I really only learned of that on here (thank you, LPSG)! Seeing real people/couples going at it is a lot more stimulating to me than watching 2 bags of silicone bounce on top of some overly-waxed metrosexual with a bad shag haircut.

I watch porn maybe once a week, and read (and write also) erotic fiction daily. Not het, though - I'm a big fan of gay porn and slash fanfics. There's nothing quite like two gorgeous guys getting it on.

What excites me is mutual enjoyment (both parties getting off on the fucking (or blowing)), and the general lack of degrading that seems to be prevalent in het porn. I think that most women don't like the same kind of porn that men like. I have seen a French porn film directed by a woman and I didn't find it very exciting at all (I went limp), too much "acting" and not enough hardcore action.

I don't like to see bad porn actors try and act, no. I like to see genuine sexual attraction. but you're right, at least in my case Rocco is very far from a turn on, and frankly it changes my view of you.

I'm just being honest that his rough methods and the submissive females do turn me on, he reminds me of a primitive cave man, showing how sex could have been when women were dominated by men, today it just isn't right to behave like that, maybe it is my male instincts that are causing this arousal, I can't explain it.

yep, you pretty much nailed why I don't like most porn. that's why I typically go for gay porn or amateur, since it's less plastic and boring. and I have seen more genuine caring, passionate kisses, gentle touching, and real orgasms between gay men than I have ever seen in any mainstream het porn.

if there's a woman and I 'project' myself into her position I want her to be having fun. so when I see that (and real female orgasms... rarer than hen's teeth) I am overjoyed.

I agree partially with you, some of his scenes are just ridiculous and make me go floppy! Like when he spends more time slapping the women and spitting in their mouths than actually having sex! WTF?
I think that Rocco has influenced the latest generation of male porn stars and because there is so much porn being produced, the quest to find something original in mainstream porn, seems to be overstepping the limits of what is tasteful/acceptable.
I think most guys would like to think of themselves as the dominant male that Rocco portrays but personally, I think the violence is unesseccary and I prefer it when he sticks to just having rough sex!

I'm very ambivalent on Rocco's movies. He's done some great scenes for American movies. U.S. companies like Vivid won't have his aggressive stuff in them, although almost all of these are older movies. (I strongly recommend Chameleons with Ashlyn Gere and Diedre Holland.) And some of his scenes in Europe are fun, but to find them you have to wade through a lot of disturbing stuff.

I find this with a lot of the Euro porn I've seen. Yes, there are fewer implants and fresher faces, and the production value is often very good. But a lot of the women clearly don't want to be doing porn. If the actress doesn't look like she's enjoying herself (pretending or not) then I can't get into it. Some of the Euro babes don't look happy during the scene at all and it's borderline rape on camera. I've read more than once of European porn stars moving to the U.S. because they're treated far better here.

I'm sure there are American porn actresses that don't want to be in the business too. But to show her not enjoying the sex and obviously wishing it was over is another thing altogether. There's a strong misogynistic streak in Euro porn that I find myself avoiding.
