Do Porn Stars Qualify as Celebrities?

i dont see why they shouldnt qualify if people know them then i think that makes them a celebrity, as long as its porn 'stars' that are widely known i would say they qualify
I think so! When a good many people know who you are, I think that automatically makes you a celebrity. I do think there are degrees of celebrity though. So while porn stars are indeed famous, I wouldn't put any their fame near say a Brad Pitt or Jennifer Aniston. Those porn conventions bring out record numbers of people everytime, so they are becoming more and more famous every year.

Certainly not each of them.
I think the so-called legends are certainly Celebrities, women like Christy Canyon, or guys like Peter North. Actors and actresses of that league. They may come from the more sleazy rows of stardom, but they are celebrities, since their names are rather spread, and associated with the business. However, most actresses/actors are no celebrities; they lack the fame of one, and lack the recognition factor of a true celebrity.

The ONLY bona fide celebrity porn star is John Holmes. Everybody on Earth knows who he is, and virtually nobody can name another porn star.
Are porn stars celebrities? NO. Not in mainstream society. Mainstream society includes gentlemen, ladies, children, religious people, and so on. Most people in mainstream society tolerate porn, but they would be happy to see it made illegal again.
Do I consider porn stars to be celebrities? NO. Only John Holmes is a genuine celebrity. Sometimes porn stars get some fleeting notoriety, but it's not fame and the mainstream media completely ignores the porn industry and the models who work in it.
