The reason I asked is: I caught my now ex posting and moderating a circle jerk group on Kik while we were in a committed relationship.
I think he was severely emotionally stunted; a man approaching 30 still acting like a high schooler.
The answers here make me realize he’s likely also bicurious and not able to be an emotionally responsible adult in a relationship. This works only if one assumes that people are 100% straight or 100% gay, when in reality, sexuality exists on a spectrum. Particularly in high school and college, young men often assume an experimental phase. For some young men, a one-on-one situation may be threatening, and therefore, as unlikely as it may seem, a group mutual masturbation activity, such as a circle jerk, actually seems safer, since there is safety in numbers.

What you are describing is called being bi-sexual. "Straight" refers to somebody who is heterosexual, meaning that they only desire and participate in sexual activities with the opposite sex. You are correct that most people are not 100% straight or gay; but when one's sexual activities and/or desires include both sexes, it is no longer appropriate to call oneself "straight" or "gay" but rather "bi." When I identify myself as being "straight" it means that I do not, and do not want to be, jerked off by the guy to my left while I jerk off the guy to my right--just like my friends who identify themselves as being gay do not and have no desire to be masturbated by a woman on their left whilst fingering a woman on their right. If you were soliciting opinions from those who fall into the range of being bi-sexual, then say that.
