Do the clothes make the woman or vice versa?

Don't really know how to word this so i apologize for possibly causing your eyes to vomit. But yeah a slinky black dress and just about anything red are said to be synonymous with sexual nature or an abundance of confidence. Pretty sure it isn't always true but i'm curious to see if a woman's clothing choice come from a realm of personality that already exists or if its sometimes a metaphorical halloween costume thing to deal with the world as it is.

If so what colors/styles would generally clue a guy in on a woman's state of being? Just everyday clothing, nothing too special.

Ok this is a very general question and i'm guessing that it might be a little too general so any replies on personal colors/styles are great.

When I wear my little black dress I like to show off. It means I'm in the mood to party and have fun. I can be as sophisticated as I want or let my hair down and misbehave.

My partner likes me wearing red, especially tops. He says it makes me look sexy. But when I put on a red top it's because I want to wear a red top. It doesn't mean I'm on the prowl, at least not consciously. Maybe my subconscious is telling me something. Who knows?

I'm not sure how to answer that question. I guess for me I just usually dress more casually but if/when I've been single and wanted to catch the eye of a guy it's probably more "situational". If that makes sense?
Honestly, I probably dress more to impress my friends than my bf anyway :) I know that sounds wierd but it's true.

It depends on what I am dressing for. When I am dressing for work, I tend to think about what my day will entail and that generally dictates, outfits and colors. For example, if I am going to a meeting, I might wear something more conservative, especially if I am presenting at a meeting. If I am just going to be in my office doing my thing, I will go for something that makes more of a statement.
If I am just out and about, it is whatever makes me feel good. I want to look presentable at all times, but there are times, when I just throw on whatever, I grab first from the closet. This is why it is so important to have a well organized closet.
If I am going out with hubby, I tend to wear things that coordinate with what he is wearing. Colors and styles vary according to the event and believe it or not his mood. I tend to send the message that we "go" together.
All other things equal, I am comfortable in my own skin and with who I am, so clothing for me appeals for many reasons. I would like to think that my attire sends the message that I am an attractive, confident woman who takes pride in her appearance and doesn't try too hard.
