I don't believe even though I've seen some things I can't explain, I believe there were factors i was unaware of which were causing them.

    Like demons and stuff :)

I don't know that I believe in UFOs, though I believe there is life beyond our planet. Statistically speaking its astronomically unlikely that in the entire universe ours is the only tiny little planet with intelligent life. I also think there are probably many that are older/more advanced than us. But whether or not they're buzzing around Earth to check us out... meh.

Ghosts fit a category I can't really reconcile. I'm not a religious or spiritual person. However I've had a couple experiences that I can only really explain as encounters with ghosts. One in particular was incredible, and I'm absolutely convinced that in that case I was in the presence of a friend's mother who'd recently died.

I don't tend to talk about the ghost stuff much, in part because of my difficulty in accepting them and in part because some people have looked at me like I'm nuts when I've said I've had experiences.

Nessie and bigfoot... I'll believe in them when I see them.

Personally, I believe in ghosts (astrals) and in the afterlife (the astral plane). I think that there are other terrestrial and extraterrestrial life forms. Who am I to say that they do not exist?

I believe in the possibility of both spirits and aliens.

Other intelligent life in our Universe is almost certain, in my estimation, and maybe elsewhere in our own galaxy.

I don't believe in ghosts. I'm an eternal skeptic, I believe there's a logical explanation for just about everything. I love those "ghost-hunting" tv shows where the infrared camera picks up these little bubble-like orbs in the camera, and everyone's convinced that it's some sort of paranormal activity. That makes me laugh.

As for aliens? As I said, there's a logical explanation for just about everything, but note how I said "just about"... I've been reading about quantum theory, parallel universes, and parallel dimensions, and the more I think about it, I think there's the distinct POSSIBILITY that otherworldly life could possibly exist (at least based on mathematical equations, as quantum theory dictates)... but being the eternal skeptic- I think what I'm getting at is, I'll believe it when I see it. Check out the book "Parallel Worlds" by Michio Kaku and you'll see what I mean.

Ghosts don't exist. What are they made of if they are visible and can go through walls? Imagine how many people have died throughout human history - a few billion - and imagine all those ghosts wandering about.
And what about animals? I've heard of some people who claim to have seen ghosts of cats and dogs. What about dinosaurs for example, do they have ghosts? Or how about amoebas? :)

Aliens almost certainly exist, but probably haven't reached earth yet on account of the huge distances involved, and also we'd have sort of noticed!

    have actually seen my doppelgänger

back as a teenager, as a clotheshorse, had bought a Swedish Military Coat, then had it altered to a shorter length, and added a belt. It was then one of a kind.

I was riding through town, one evening, deviating a bit from my regular schedule and activity, and saw myself, in that coat, standing at a street corner, waiting for the light to change so that I could cross the street, as if I had stuck to my regular schedule.

A few nights later, I got delayed at a poker game, so was not going to be able to make it home that night, and stayed at my friend's house. Did leave early the next morning, after a night of snow. When I made it home, I noticed a set of tracks going up to the front door, then a set of tracks leading to the rear entrance of the house.

In the conversation I had with my mother that evening, she insisted I had showed up that night, was at the front door without my key, but as she was already in bed, had called out to me to enter through the rear ... she insisted it had been me.

I believe that there are "more things between heaven and earth than are dreamt of in our philosophy." But I also believe that what most people report as para-normal phenomenon is bogus.

I believe that there is life elsewhere in the universe, but what most people report as UFOs or alien encouters are bogus.

I have had two personable experiences with ghosts. One was at a bar where the bartenders refused to even go to upstairs where they kept all their storage after dark. They allowed me up there late one night and nothing happened for about 20 minutes. Then I hear a dull thumping sound and a clear blue mist slowly transform into a cylindrical shape about 30 feet across the room. I didnt stay to see what its final form was.
Bigfoot and Nessie do not exist. There is no way there could be a large enough population to repopulate for decades and centuries without stumbling upon a carcass somewhere.
Alien life does exist, however it is likely at least 40 light years away. And being that the universe is over 10 billion years old and we have only been around for 20,000 years, the chance that other intelligent life exists in the same time period as us is very remote.

I too have seen a ghost. It was a large woman in a black and white dress. She was at the end of the bed and can only explain she looked similar to a hologram. She did not appear to be looking at me. It was like she did not know I existed either. I found out later from the owners of the house that they had seen her and think her to be the original owner of the house that actually had laid "in-state" in the house after her death in the 1930's. Never seen anything like that since.

Now see? I would love to have something like this happen to me. I have been looking for something really freaky to happen in my life, but noooooooo, all I get are perfectly explainable natural phenomenon.

I'm always having freaky things happen to me, but I still don't believe. I have a friend whose house was the subject of a poltergeist investigation, I still believe there were just things causing the events that were perfectly natural but unknown.

I don't believe in an afterlife. I don't believe in ghosts or spirits. All paranormal activity observed by man has been satisfactorily debunked in my opinion.

UFO just means unidentified flying object. I believe that there have been instances of something airborne that we weren't able to identify.

I believe there is probably extraterrestrial life somewhere in the Universe. Whether or not man has observed any... meh... maybe. I think the majority of alien sightings by humans have been exaggerated, imagined, or fabricated.

little green men? leprechauns? I don't believe in leprechauns. I also don't believe that there are Martians alive today.

Bigfoot? You mean the mythical yeti/windigo/sasquatch creature of legend? No. Could there be some large primate living in the wild not previously documented. Possibly. Probably not likely, but it's possible. I don't think there's ever been credible video or photographic evidence that there is, though.

Also bunk: Loch Ness Monster, Ouija boards, astrology, faith healing, speaking in tongues, feng shui, 9/11 conspiracy theories, JFK conspiracy theories, the power of prayer, exorcism, the more outlandish claims of chiropractitioners, magic, reincarnation, chi, yoga, random superstitions, witchcraft, voodoo, zombies, auras, tarot cards, animal whispering, palm reading, karma, angels, anything advertised on late night infomercials, illuminati, zionist conspiracy theories, dianetics/scientology, the war on terror, fan death (look it up)

stuff I'm on the fence about: acupuncture, string theory, entropic heat death of the Universe, alternate explanations for the origin of the species, extrasensory perception, Atkins diet, revisionist histories of WW2

outlandish/controversial things I do believe in: the less outlandish claims of chiropractitioners, the theory that not all Americans are stupid

    Now this IS interesting.

I'm very surprised to see so many people believe in ghosts but not in lake monsters or hominids when, in particular, we know they existed in the past. In the case of giant hominids, what we would consider as bigfoot died out(?) only about 300,000 years ago. The clear candidate for bigfoot is Gigantopithecus.

The native Americans had over 1,000 names for bigfoot and myths regarding bigfoot are almost as numerous. In every tribe the description of the creature is the same: very tall, hairy, human-like face, opposable thumbs, big teeth, throws stones, and smells awful.

Now short of the size, if you had asked what creature this was to a zoologist, they'd tell you it was a gorilla. The problem here, of course, is that there are no apes in North or South America.

Some casts of bigfoot feet show dermal ridges, a unique feature of primates. Other casts show complex foot problems which, to fake, would require someone with extensive knowledge of podiatry. Some hair samples are determined to be that of a primate, but the DNA resolves to no known primate.

Given that we know a creature which could, almost exactly, be bigfoot, existed only a relatively short time ago in the biological record, that an entire continent of people all report such a creature when they had no other way of knowing even its closest relative, and given the quality of the evidence so far, I would say that of all the cryptids out there, bigfoot has the greatest chance of being discovered.
