No, I don't believe in karma for the simple reason that I don't think life is fair...bad things happen to good people and good things can happen to bad people. I do, however, believe that if you surround yourself with negativity and cynicism, that will be the kind of people you will attract in life...if you believe in the good of people regardless of what goes on in the world, you will attract people with like mind...But neither of these will bring good or evil.

Well yes if we only live once life is unfair ( and not karma and rebirth exists).

I don't know if I believe in karma per se, but I do believe the old adage about "reaping what you sow." It may take a good long while, but I think eventually your deeds catch up to you, whether good or bad.

Then where do crime victims fit into that philosophy? Do you think that a six year old molested or murdered child has done something to warrant this act done to her/him? Do you think a rape victim is such a horrible person that she did something to deserve it? My argument is not with you lexingtony (you know I like you and compete with you for Christopher Meloni, right?), but I just don't understand...I think, because I believe in God, and in a heaven and a hell, that is where the "reaping what you sow" comes in, but not in this life. I just don't see life as fair as all that!

It is always admirable to take the higher road and do the best you can do. Possibly the belief or concept of karma helps some to stay on a more moral path. Sort of the do onto others philosophy.... so it is a good thing.
