Mystic, I have faith in humanity. We, not aliens built the pyramids over 5,000 years ago. Through our own ingenuity.

To shoot a capsule into space with a living being aboard, is not that bigger deal, considering to reach orbit is a mere 36,000 kilometers or so.. proof that man can place objects into space much farther than that is an everyday occurrence, that is with proof from the now everyday satnav systems and telecomunications. I hear no voice of descent from you at this feat.

The moon is a mere 10 times the distance of the very first living thing human beings sent in to space. You want to know what I doubt Mystic? Is if mankind will be around to set foot on mars.

Be a little kinder to eachother. It starts from in there.

If man had really landed on moon 50 years ago, setting foot on mars would be as easy ad flying to hawaii.. You ask yourslef if mankind will be around..and you are right

No but I didn't just see the moon landing on a screen. There's moon rocks and they left things up there. Also Armageddon was made in 1998. They didn't have CGI technology like that in the 60's so your next sentence can't be 'It's totally faked like the movie!'

It is not that easy flying to the land of hula. Have you ever done the calculations to land on a little spot in the middle of the pacific? I love doubters, you are the ones that push humankind to do better.

Well you did. Now follow me. You think those things are real just because you saw them on a screen?

Well, by that logic I doubt that Italy exists, because I've only ever seen it ' on a screen' . Yet there you are taking 3 hour lunch breaks, electing billionaire pedophiles to high offices, and draining the lifeblood of the European economy.

Oh, and denigrating achievements you can't equal. I left that out.

I just typed two paragraphs and realised I was on a tangent. Then backspaced. Ahhh well, tangents come in handy during sex...There is an upside to it all.

Well although you were funny - I have to admit.. especially the billionaires pedophiles thas is sadly true- yours isnt such a matching example. Without an italian, the new world woud have never been discovered and you wouldn t be living where you actually live so you have the proof that Italy exists..you can 'touch' it everyday of your life even if you only saw it on television.. As to the human footseps on the moon surface.. What does it need to fake that on a tv studio???

Ok ladies and gentlemen .. I just decided to start this thread that actually would like to be more of a survey since I feel believers and non believers are split in two perfect halves.. We'll see if I m right...

Which moon? Are you talking about Earth or some other planet? I am firmly of the belief there has been a landing on Io by Jupiter, as well as Prometheus and Iapetus over by Saturn

Or did you mean the moon landing on something?

Sure, you continue to believe this little piece of historical fantasy but not that man walked on the moon. Columbus was the first to discover the new world only if you ignore the natives already inhabiting the land, the Vikings who reached it about 500 years before him, a certain Irish monk who made it there around 1,000 years before and any number of other credible claimants.

now you are just being a dunderhead! things are not linear, mars is exponentially more difficult, if for no other reason than the sheer distance involved, to say nothing of the increased effect of the sun's heat, gravitational pull, etc. etc.

stop flapping your gums, you only make yourself look dumber.

Ok just to ask the previous poster s question besides all the other ones I dont believe it since video can be easily faked-or u really think the Armageddon scenario is truth?- and technology couldn t be so developed back in the sixties to allow men to survive in the lunar atmosphere and no man has been putting foot on it since 69... with modern tech it should have been like an easy and short trip as of today... I think these reasons are more. than enough to get me doubtful..also I m keen to change my view if a reasonable answer was to be posted...

As of my typing this, over 90% believe that man landed on the moon. It saddens me that number isn't 98%.

The simple truth is that a secret of that magnitude would be impossible to keep for this long. Some low-level engineer somewhere would have come forward long ago for the cash and fame offered by reporters.

As for the points you raised, if man can survive under water, he can survive in space. The pressure is similar, just in opposite directions. And the space program was ridiculously costly. In 2005 dollars, it cost $170 Billion. The simple fact is that the moon had no rare resources to mine and there was no benefit beyond scientific. In that regard, space alone provided more scientific avenues for research at a SIGNIFICANTLY cheaper price and with genuine real-world applications. And the reason we can't visit the moon today is as simple as the factories which once made all of the components used, no longer exist. An entire supply chain would need to be created and if it were... What do we need it for? Lunar hotels and resorts? What's the point?

Fuzzy is glad that you are using causality to show that artifacts from the past effect the way things are today. In 1969, Neil and Buzz left a small mirror array on the moon's surface. This mirror was used for 40 years by various scientists and scientific groups to determine the distance between the Earth and Moon and to challenge Einsteins relativity theories. The mirror eventually became too dusty to be useful.

Fuzzy wonders: how did this mirror get there?

It was flung there. By an Italian. Using his innately superior navigational skills!
