Since this thread's kinda taken off in a tangent (friends you can trust enough vs. just plain discussing details) I gotta say, I'm not sure the caliber of the OP's friends to begin with. In my group of friends I work out with, I easily have about 75 people I'd consider my closest friends. Half male half female. There've been relationships that have ended because of one (or both) partners being unfaithful, but never have any of them been unfaithful with another friend's partner.
Typically if someone fools around, they fool around with someone not within the same circle of friends. Too risky/too stupid/too familiar/too familial.
